Tasted by maxima on 1/28/2015 & rated 89 points: Beau nez sur le chocolat, le cèdre et les fruits rouge.
En bouche, un peu assèchant et tannique. Beaucoup de fruit cependant.
Prometteur lui aussi. (1363 views)
Tasted by JJA on 10/20/2014 & rated 91 points: Nothing too outrageous here, but this is a nice wine for the price. A bit reserved on the nose and not all that complex. Probably will get a bit better with a few more years of age. But no need to lay this down for the long haul. (1650 views)
Tasted by oeno1 on 6/2/2014 & rated 89 points: Austere, Hard and generally lacking fruit. will live long but unlikely to provide any pleasure before a very long time. revisit in 15 years.. (2048 views)
Tasted by vespasian on 6/2/2014 & rated 92 points: Deep and richly concentrated nose. Quite tight and closed at present; lovely mouthfeel, good concentration of fruit with fine tannins and fruit hiding the structure. Very good. (2260 views)
Tasted by rossi.wine on 5/17/2014 & rated 92 points: Good structure, dry, good persistence, just very very young and tense. Should be great in a couple of years. (2183 views)
Tasted by Jeff Leve on 2/19/2014 & rated 91 points: Tight, needs effort to bring up the earthy, smoke filled perfume, with its coffee bean and blackberry notes. Soft, and polished, there is a dryness in the finish that stops the wine from scoring higher. (2120 views)
Tasted by Lipsman on 1/25/2014 & rated 88 points: Union des Grands Crus de Bordeaux 2011 Vintage Tasting (Century Plaza Hotel, Los Angeles): Red licorice aromas. Young and tight with tannins prominent. Fruit is buried at present. Good acidity making for a fresh wine that is long on the palate, but not quite balanced. (1466 views)
Tasted by yofog on 1/23/2014 & rated 87 points: Big, with big, drying tannins and lots of extraction on the finish. There's some nice, elegant fruit hidden in there some where but it gets lost in the otherwise muddled presentation. (913 views)
Tasted by Mike410 on 1/19/2014 & rated 91 points: UGC Montreal: Dark garnet in color. Not much on the nose. Taste of raspberries and cherry. Delicious. (860 views)
Tasted by PanosKakaviatos on 1/17/2014 & rated 87 points: Bordeaux 2011 from bottle (Park Hyatt Hotel, Washington D.C.): What's going on here? The nose offers much promise of red and black fruit and you may think that this wine would have some freshness. The attack is decent and the mid palate of medium plus body. But it ends up being an over extracted mess, with far too much drying on the finish. I could be wrong here, but my experience tasting it in Washington D.C. was not too positive - certainly worse than the from barrel tasting in 2012... Score higher if you like the style. (1484 views)

(708 views)
Tasted by Jeff Leve on 4/25/2012 & rated 91 points: This wine blends equal portions Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot and was aged in 100% new oak. Coffee, licorice, blackberry and tobacco smoke make up the perfume. This medium-bodied wine has some dryness in the finish and ends with black cherry, spice and raspberry. 90-92 Pts (2744 views)

Winedoctor, April 2012
(Château Pape-Clément (Pessac-Léognan)) Dark and backward fruit on the nose, smoky, with a lot of toasted oak elements suggestive of charred embers coming in. The fruit though feels ripe and sweet. The palate is rich, bold, with the fruit playing second fiddle to some structural elements here, The tannins are unsurprisingly very rich, chewy and dominate the finish. I also detected a little whiff of heat on my first taste, although I didn't find it on subsequent encounters and I suspect it was a sample issue. A typically bold style from Magrez that will no doubt see a lot of oak and come out of it a bruiser.  15.5-16. points
