Tasted by redwhiteandrich on 5/9/2024 & rated 79 points: Lifted! Lavender, olive brine and blackberries. Really nice. Glad I tucked this away, always difficult to do considering the price ($25 back in 2015 or so). (47 views)
Tasted by diggydan on 6/4/2020 & rated 92 points: Still beautiful and lifted red berry and black olive savory confection. (723 views)
Tasted by diggydan on 4/25/2020 & rated 95 points: Awesome. Savory, Olive briny, and meaty with a beautiful mid palate appearance of ripe blackberry. (681 views)
Tasted by diggydan on 11/23/2019 & rated 93 points: Still seems very primary and even more fruity than earlier bottles. Stacked deep with blackberry and briny olives on the finish. (923 views)
Tasted by wineshlub on 1/5/2019 flawed bottle: Opened one hour in advance. Sharp aroma of green plums. Tart berry fruit with olive notes. Puckery lemon finish.

There's good stuff in there, but it's completely overwhelmed by runaway VA - quite pronounced at first, receded a bit with air, but still overwhelmed everything else. (1308 views)
Tasted by diggydan on 8/20/2017 & rated 94 points: Deep and savory. Olive and more olive, briny and savory. (1946 views)
Tasted by jlhkiss on 4/12/2017 & rated 92 points: Final bottle, consistent with previous notes. Seemed a tad more tart and juicy this time, probably still evolving. Technical score: 92. Enjoyment score: 92. Outstanding QPR. (1772 views)
Tasted by jlhkiss on 8/11/2016 & rated 92 points: Consistent with my previous note 16 months ago, but even more accessible. Good red and dark fruit with incredible depth and concentration for this price point. Pure, honest, rustic expression of Syrah. (2132 views)
Tasted by diggydan on 5/29/2016 & rated 95 points: This is stacked with ripe purple berries and black olives on a nose that grows like vigoro. The palate is smooth, rich and dense, lean and graceful, with more berries and olives, finishing lengthy with minerals and a touch of tannin and spice. This is drinking so so so well. Thank you so so much, Mr. Clape, merci tres beaucoup. (2300 views)
Tasted by John from GR on 11/24/2015 & rated 90 points: Bought one bottle and drank it right away. Clape makes great wines that are too expensive. This is under $25, so I was excited to see if this could be great..... or close to great for a wonderful price. Gobs of fruit, but minerality as well. Graphite. Acid. Long finish. I will buy six tomorrow. (2369 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 10/17/2015 & rated 90 points: A private lunch (Restaurant De Librije ***, Zwolle, Netherlands): Supple and pure, fresh yet easy, warm spices, black pepper, red berries and cherries, violets, hint of stony minerality, light tannins, transparent, Burgundian style, old-vine creaminess, roses, very good length. Delicious, stylish. (2026 views)
Tasted by ledocq on 5/27/2015 flawed bottle: Grr. Smelled great but from the first taste, that electric buzzing spoiled taste like you're holding bees in your mouth. Alas. (2224 views)
Tasted by french16 on 5/17/2015: Always one of my favorite syrah for the price Just textbook with violets, mineral notes. Just superb. (1756 views)
Tasted by jlhkiss on 4/4/2015 & rated 92 points: Took about an hour to open up in the decanter. Pale, murky, unfiltered crimson color. The nose brings ripe bing cherries, green herbs, and smoked meat. The palate is medium with a very juicy acidic frame, bringing blackberries, some blueberries, raspberries, musty old leather boots, hints of tobacco, charcoal, Manhattan cherries, and some lingering garlic and basil notes into the finish, which lingers for 30+ seconds with nicely refined tannins. Almost effervescent like a young Burgundy while supple and quenching, this is definitely ready to drink now with food - we paired with seared fillet and roasted potatoes off the grill. Drink 2015-2020. (1412 views)
Tasted by danstrings on 3/18/2015 & rated 90 points: Huge inky blueberry mocha cassis, lovely (1479 views)
Tasted by Spencer on 3/11/2015: Another excellent bottle of this wine. Definitely fully mature - I would drink this up soon. Balanced, pure, expressive. (1385 views)
Tasted by Jimywags on 2/11/2015 & rated 87 points: Decanted for roughly an hour. Again with the harsh acid and bitterness. Just not a good bottle for me, unfortunately. 87pts. (1277 views)
Tasted by chrisanderika on 12/24/2014 flawed bottle: Flawed, bought two bottles from the same store and wondering about their storage. What a disappointment. (1254 views)
Tasted by Vinsant on 11/9/2014: Green olive, cured meat, violets, white pepper, and tar. This bottle didn't have the slight spritz the last bottle had. Drying tannins on a medium finish. (1389 views)
Tasted by xwine on 11/1/2014: Almost seems like liquid black olives. The fruit is certainly playing second fiddle at this point, and the acidity is a bit too up front and center. Much better once we started on the lamb chops, etc. The 2010 has better material, and I believe this should be consumed very near term. (1269 views)
Tasted by Jimywags on 10/9/2014 & rated 87 points: Popped and poured. I didn't seem to like this as much as everyone else. The wine seemed off to me. Tons of aciidity that gave it a hard to ignore harsh componet and kept it from balance. Possessed everything else I love from french syrah at $25 but just couldn't get passed the harshness. 87pts. (1480 views)
Tasted by chbeaumont on 7/27/2014 & rated 87 points: Sound, supple, inviting. This lacks the stuffing & character of previous vintages. Too tame. (1612 views)
Tasted by Cote d'Or on 7/9/2014: PopnPour, tasted over 2 hrs
-opaque med-dark red with purple
-pretty, stony minerality, faint black pepper, violets
-high acidity up front sets an intensely sour almost citrusy tone, yet the weight is med+ almost chunky, generous if fairly simple mid-palate combines with big chalky tannins to give an expansive mouthfeel
-first time with this wine, not sure if the acidity is a marker of the vintage, typical for this cuvee, or afflicted with some VA. (1528 views)
Tasted by Kriz on 3/24/2014 & rated 92 points: Simply great. I can drink this every day... (1779 views)
Tasted by Kriz on 3/17/2014 & rated 91 points: I can drink this every day. Again a great bottle of wine! (1709 views)
