Tasted by GuWin on 3/14/2023 & rated 91 points: BYO Centropa "vin utenfor Frankrike" (Centropa, Oslo, Norway): Ungdommelig, dyp mørk farge. (1570 views)
Tasted by lwolffl on 2/2/2023: Næse: varme, træ, sødlig vanilje, let mentol, støvet, marcipan/kirsebærsten, grøn, sødlig skovbund, mørke røde bær, kirsebær, bananskræl,

Mund: høj syre og tannin, ru tunge, prikkende i tænderne, varm sød rød frugt, kirsebær, vanilje, fad, marcipan, holder længe i munden,

Dejlig rund vin, som med ilt bliver blødere, sødlig vanilje og træ træder mest klart frem (1270 views)
Tasted by kostaslonis on 12/1/2022: Brought to drink at Oinoscent. 16 plots os vineyards in La Horra, vinified separately in steel vats, malolactic in oak (50% new, 50% 2nd use), ageing 16-18 months, 60.000 bottles production. Wine was uncorked 12.30, tasted 13.15 and slowly enjoyed over a few more hours

The wine shows vibrant, bright ruby color.
In the nose, the wine is brutally fresh, showing high density and intensity, ripe blue and black berries and cherries, sweet notes of oak and spices, clove, nutmeg, cinnamon, a few milky notes
In the palate, the wine shows buckers of fruit, mostly red and blue (rather than black) fruit, cherries, again spicy with a thicker oak frame, tight tannins, a touch warm but not aggressively so, creme de cassis chocolate notes, medium to full body, long persistent finish
Still a baby (1456 views)
Tasted by awever on 11/26/2022 & rated 93 points: Für mehr als faire 110€ in Dresden im Restaurant getrunken , zu Beginn starke Kaffee -Note in der Nase , dann ganz lang und klassisch (1421 views)
Tasted by PVJC on 11/11/2022 & rated 94 points: Excellent. Vibrant color, no signs of bricking, looks much younger. Medium+ bodied, robust but not over extracted on the palate. Well integrated tannins. Needed some time to open up, best after 2-3 hrs in decanter. (1367 views)
Tasted by danseng on 8/21/2022 & rated 92 points: Getting lots of dark fruit and tannin. Tons of life left. (994 views)
Tasted by A_rytter on 4/3/2022: Ripe red fruits, well integrated acidity. Some pepper, but mostly fruit expression on both nose and taste. M+ body. (1057 views)
Tasted by PVJC on 9/19/2021 & rated 94 points: Medium+ body, no detailed notes but drinking very well. Gets your attention with every sip. (1570 views)
Tasted by Sonoma-W on 2/2/2021 & rated 95 points: Outstanding! Incredibly rich, lively, dark fruit. (1657 views)
Tasted by LingonTuvan on 1/4/2021 flawed bottle: Flawed (2332 views)
Tasted by Camvin on 4/18/2020: 4.6/5 (3032 views)
Tasted by acyso on 12/4/2019 & rated 93 points: A few with Lao Peng You (Chicago, IL): Honestly, I have to say I expected not to like this wine. But this is really good. Sure, it's ripe and jammy and has tons of plush qualities, but that texture is just awesome, and there's a surprising amount of freshness here as well. Quite drinkable now, but I think this still has ample stuffing for further aging. (3812 views)
Tasted by Motz on 7/9/2019 & rated 93 points: Clean, muddled flower petals, rooibos, and red fruit driven bouquet. The wine tastes like it smells. Precise, vivacious, and lush. Markedly young. It might not improve, but it will hold for at least another decade. (3201 views)
Tasted by Hschmitz on 6/23/2019 & rated 89 points: flot duft, dejlig kraftig sag, lang eftersmag, som dog var lidt for vammel og sødmefuld. Skuffer lidt. (2711 views)
Tasted by Binkey on 2/18/2019 & rated 93 points: You can see clearly that is made from a very good producer even though it is his second wine.open 1 hour and then decant for at least 1 hour.nose full of alcholol at start but then you get plum, leather, oak, some sweet spices and black fruits.the body is tannic but it is perfectly balanced so can only you feel them in the aftertaste.i think it is the perfect time to drink it. (2897 views)
Tasted by wdcwineguys on 8/4/2018 & rated 92 points: Excellent. Enjoyed at dinner at Jaleo tonight. Decanted about 30 minutes. Drinking very well. Dark fruit, deep purple, blackberry, some minerals on the nose. Very balanced and complex. Great with food. (2931 views)
Tasted by Justinwine on 3/18/2018 & rated 93 points: After a long decant this was a very good brining wine. Great complex nose. (3140 views)
Tasted by Blake Brown on 3/11/2018: 2012 DOMINIO de PINGUS FLOR de PINGUS RIBERA del DUERO- second label for the real deal Pingus; Tempranillo, 14.5% abv; this was spirited, energetic, young, vibrant and a glimpse of what I expect it to evolve to in a few decades; it had nice appealing aromatics which when tasted included spicy black cherry/ berry fruit with a hint of liquorice. (1709 views)
Tasted by Trolson on 11/5/2017 & rated 87 points: Very disappointing. No nose or anything notable. (3527 views)
Tasted by eschaefer on 6/23/2017 & rated 91 points: 300th tasting note on CT!

Flash note. A flash note is one that I distinctly remember the quality/overall rating of a wine but can’t give specifics because the tasting note was not written at time of tasting.

Very very good. People like the fruit forward nature of this wine against the Unico. It was fun to drink in its own right and fun to side by side with the unico. (2200 views)
Tasted by Popo Pete on 4/6/2017 & rated 91 points: Very hard and tight. Lots oak. Tight and big tannic structure overtaking the fruit and earth notes. Decanted 5 hrs. Last sip at 7 hrs was best. Can see its future and look forward to it. Drink next in 2020-22, not before. Will go 10 + years without a sweat. (4051 views)
Tasted by KenK on 1/29/2017 & rated 91 points: Espresso aromas with sweet vanilla cherry. Ripe dark red with lots of structure. Nice purity and broad flavors with quickies finish. Tasty (3985 views)
Tasted by Miceri on 12/25/2016 & rated 94 points: Dark red; very intense and brooding blackberry nose, some vanilla, lean not jammy; rich, nice, some tannins, good fruit but slightly muted; very nice and inviting (3625 views)
Tasted by Trolson on 12/17/2016 & rated 83 points: Too early to drink. No nose or otherwise anything noteworthy. Hopefully will deepen and open up over time. Preferred my 2009 Cuveier. (3484 views)
Tasted by beatles on 11/18/2016 & rated 92 points: Very juicy, rich, yet balanced; much better than the 2011 and very young. Will improve with age when everything settles down, butthe material is great here. 92+

Tempranillo

Varietal character (Appellation America) | TAPAS: Tempranillo Advocates, Producers and Amigos Society

Tempranillo is the premium red wine grape variety from the Rioja and Ribera del Duero region in Spain. Tempranillo's aromas and flavors often combine elements of berryish fruit, herbaceousness, and an earthy-leathery minerality. Being low in acidity and sugar content, it is commonly blended with Carignan (Mazuela), Grenache (Garnacha), Graciano, Merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.

The varietal is at its best in top Riojas, where oak aging is employed to generate increased complexity and harmony. From the best sites, these wines can be remarkably concentrated with great aging potential. New wines from this region are darker, and more robust, with more dynamic primary fruit flavors than traditionally styled examples. These wines seem to reflect the influence of Spain's other key region for Tempranillo, Ribera del Duero. Regardless of style, Riojas tend to be medium bodied wines, with more acid than tannins. These wines generally feature Tempranillo blended with Garancha, Mazuelo, and Graciano. For these wines, there are three quality levels, which will appear on the label. Everyday drinking wines fall under the category of "Crianza", "Reserva" denotes more complex and concentrated wines, and "Gran Reserva" refers to the most intense wines, made only in the best years.

The same labeling scheme applies to wines from Ribera del Duero, which, like Rioja, is dominated by Tempranillo and shares similar blending grapes. Again, Ribera del Duero wines are generally darker and more powerful than the most traditional Riojas. These wines also generally see less oak treatment than Riojas. From Rioja, we like wines from Allende, Marqués de Cáceres, Montecillo, and Cune. In Ribera del Duero, consider Dominio de Pingus, Emilio Moro, Convento San Francisco, and Pesquera.
Pair older-style Rioja with simple meats like chicken, leg of lamb, and pork loin. However, the newer style of Rioja and Ribera del Duero works especially well with bolder meat dishes or an aged Spanish cheese like Manchego or Idiazabal.

Spain

Vinos de España - Wines of Spain (Instituto Español de Comercio Exterior) | Wikipedia
Wine Map on weinlagen-info

Spain is the third largest wine producing nation in the world, occupying the majority of the Iberian Peninsula with vast diversity in climate, culture, and of course, wine. From inky, dark reds of the [Priorat] to dry, white Finos from Andalusia, Spain can easily boast of elaborating a wide variety of notable styles. Within Spain there are currently 62 demarcated wine regions, of which a handful have gained international recognition: [Rioja], Priorat and [Ribera del Duero]. Yet these regions are only a small sample of the high quality wines Spain produces. Regions such as Cava, Penedes, Somontano, Galicia, Rueda and Jerez are only a few of the numerous regions worthy of exploration throughout Spain. Spain can also lay claim to having the most land under vine in the world, growing up to, by some accounts, 600 indigenous varietals of which Tempranillo is their most well known. Other popular varietals include [Garnacha], Bobal and Monastrell for reds and for whites; the infamous [sic] Palomino Fino grape which is used in the production of sherry wine, Pedro Ximenez in Montilla Morilles, Albarino used in the creation of the bright, effervescent wines of Galicia, and Verdejo in Rueda. - Source: - Catavino.net

Spain is not in the forefront of winemaking for its dessert wines, other than for its sweet wines from Sherry country including the highly revered Olorosos (when sweetened). But apart from Sherry Spain has a range of styles of dessert wines, ranging from the those made from the Pedro Ximenez grape primarily in Jerez and Montilla-Moriles) to luscious, red dessert wines made in the Mediterranean from the Garnacha (Grenache) grape. Some good Moscatels are made in Mallorca, Alicante and Navarre. The northwest corner of Spain, Galicia, with its bitter Atlantic climate, is even making dessert wines, called “Tostadillos” in the village of Ribadivia (similar to France’s “Vin de Paille”). The Canary Islands have made interesting dessert wines for centuries (they are mentioned by Shakespeare, for example) and in recent years the quality of winemaking has been improved and the Canary Islands wines are being better marketed now. The winemaking styles for “Vinos Dulces” are also diverse, from “Late Harvest” (Vendimia Tardía) to “Fortified Wines” (Fermentación Parcial). Based on in-spain.info.
