The nose was a pleasant enough melange of sweet blueberries, smoky spice and then mint and eucalyptus herb. On the palate, chewy, slightly powdery tannins and decent acidity were draped over simple but decent enough flavours of blueberries and spice leading into a warm finish. Fruity nose, blackberries and cherries; not a lot of Clare mint or eucalypt. Has quite mild powdery tannins, medium acid; is about medium-bodied and doesn't taste too fruity on the palate. Still, it's no more than a decent new-world red; a perfectly satisfactory BBQ wine to drink without much thought. (2096 views) |
