Tasted by Wine_in_HD on 5/28/2016 & rated 88 points: Decanted 1hr. Oaky with grippy tannins, sour cherry and other red fruit flavors. About the same the next day. May need more time in bottle for this 2011 wine to knit together. (2004 views)
Tasted by skip13 on 3/10/2016 & rated 91 points: Very tannic with deep fruit tastes; plum blueberry. Also significant notes of chocolate and black licorice. For this year, a very good bottle. Did not decant but that could probably improve things a bit. (2137 views)
Tasted by Snoman on 1/31/2016 & rated 94 points: Terrific for the vintage, a classic display of great Napa Cabernet Sauv. Amazing on the nose, the aromas of cassis, black fruits, vanilla and light smoke carry to the palate in a rich, but well-balanced display of a textbook quality Napa bottle. Dark in the glass, but not overpowering on the palate, the finish is long and tasty, supported by sweet, silky tannins as this wine enters a prime drinking window. (2210 views)
Tasted by RSTAR4 on 10/31/2015 & rated 90 points: Dark cherry and cassis with slate, earth and hint of milk chocolate. Soft tannins lead to a weaker structure mid palate. Some heat that evened out after about 30 minutes. Would benefit from decanting, but ready to drink now. Fulsome mouthfeel with a lingering after. (2384 views)
Tasted by ThistleB on 9/21/2015 & rated 77 points: Not good the first day. Worse the second day. Tasted like tar with a him t of dark fruit. Ended up dumping it. May have been corked, because we liked this when we tasted at Total Wine and more. Nevertheless, won't buy again (2478 views)
Tasted by Wine_in_HD on 3/22/2015 & rated 90 points: A good solid well made wine that tends more toward the red fruit flavors. A little better the second day. (1271 views)
Tasted by MDRwinos on 2/15/2015 & rated 88 points: :30 open, softened up then enjoy (1138 views)
Tasted by cltean on 1/29/2015 & rated 91 points: Tasted at Total Wine, Towson MD on January 29, 2015. Almost 100% Cabernet Sauvignon. Wine maker is Anne Vawter. Best wine of the tasting. Very refined and Intense. Nice fresh fig flavors. Would go well with fatty meats. 13.8% alcohol. 49.99 (1079 views)
Tasted by cltean on 9/11/2014 & rated 88 points: Tasted at Total Wine in Towson, MD on 9/11/2014. A little tart with strong tannins. Nice smell. (1044 views)

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
