Tasted by clayfu on 8/17/2023: awesome wine. Where the 2011 Clos lacked in length, felt like this stole it all via osmosis. Intense minerality and focus long into the finish. Gorgeous compelling wine that I kept coming back to. (1063 views)
Tasted by burginner on 3/4/2023 & rated 93 points: magnum, elegant and rich. Nice '13 bottle (900 views)
Tasted by fcxj on 2/9/2023 flawed bottle: Badly corked bottle. (1117 views)
Tasted by fcxj on 2/3/2023 & rated 94 points: Classic citrus aromatics. Palate is broadening out, but still pretty taut. (1078 views)
Tasted by Yassine23 on 2/3/2023: It was nice but not as good as the 14 Butteaux I had a week prior to this bottle. Not sure the 13 vintage suits this style. After 2 hours, got more mineral and focused. Quite ripe and tropical throughout. (894 views)
Tasted by vinkeger on 5/14/2022 & rated 97 points: Denne er ganske så tilgjengelig. Wow. Stor vin. Kombinerer det beste fra Forêt og Blanchot og løfter det til et nytt nivå. Har alt - hvit og gul frukt, sjø, østersskall og kjøtt. Så veldefinert og velproporsjonert.

Vanvittig i munn. Så konsentrert, beskjeden sødme, ypperlig balanse. Noe uforløst nå. Men wow, en utrolig vin. Så lang. (1436 views)
Tasted by finediningnyc on 5/6/2022 & rated 95 points: Underrated vintage both red and white. Raveneau‘s 2013 Valmur is electric from the first pour wafting killer yellow fruit intensity, white chocolate, white flowers, notions of sea breeze and a little botrytis influenced saffron. The palate is deep, waxy and rich with balanced zippy citrusy acids and a crushed oyster shell minerality that gives way to a considerably long, focused and spice tinged finale. Excellent. (957 views)
Tasted by aquacongas on 10/23/2021 & rated 93 points: semiblind, Magnum
Guessed right, not so powerful as usually, still fresh, lemon, oyster shell and some secondary aromas. 93 (1868 views)
Tasted by Papies on 9/10/2021 & rated 95 points: 2021 Athens Wine Event , An event to make up for the last 2 years (Spondi , Athens): The magic of great Chablis,
Served blind and even the most experienced among us ( including a Bollinger award winner MW) struggled to place it as a Chablis so away from the norm and the classic style this wine was. Maybe the use of oak in the hands of a great wine maker with ideas to push away from the classic?
More topical than anything, mineral for sure but also rich and layered with a fatty feel but effortlessly balanced . The table pushed towards Petit Cheval Blanc and even Haut Briton Blanc ( we hesitated between Terran primo and Ornellaia Blanc) . We can keep going here for a long time but really pushing aside all the fanfare this was a phenomenal wine. 95 (2012 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 7/16/2021 & rated 94 points: DC/Chicago Wine Dinner Extravaganza (Smyth and The Loyalist - Chicago IL): In 13/11/09/06 vertical. Nothing classic here at all, thi starts out with a sense of sweetness from faint botrytis, which brings about some untraditional baked apple and poached pear character. That richness is well matched by classic mineral textures and very good length. Not the greatest density for Raveneau Grand Cru, but very fun and enjoyable. (2267 views)
Tasted by dcwino on 7/16/2021 & rated 95 points: Annual gathering with Chicago winos in Chicago (Smyth and The Loyalist - Chicago IL): Expressive almost exotic nose displaying tropical yellow fruit, guava, pineapple, lemon oil, honey, a hint of mint, beeswax and limestone. Excellent concentration, layers upon layers of sweet ripe yellow fruit, rich and opulent yet showing good balance and precision, bright acidity, strong mineral, and a long exotic tropical fruit driven finish with beeswax and honey at the end. This is the most primary and ripest wine of the flight. A bit kinky almost. According to Al, the wine gives the richness due to botrytis in the 13 vintage. Really enjoyable. (2252 views)
Tasted by Burgnick on 4/28/2021 & rated 92 points: Seashell, citrus, yellow fruit, and crushed rocks. Surprisingly accessible. It has more stuffing and complexity compared to the 13 Blanchots on the side. 92-93 (1742 views)
Tasted by bbq_grandcru on 3/13/2021 & rated 94 points: Nose of pink grapefruit and minerality. Very nicely balanced with great finish. (1288 views)
Tasted by RobertSchuyt on 6/6/2020 & rated 94 points: 2013 was better in Chablis than in more southern Burgundy. Still pale yellow in color indicating further ageing potential. Beautiful aromas of butterscotch, lemon, and a bit saline. Very mineral, concentrated w. light butter and honey. Acidity present but already beautifully intertwined w. aromas mentioned. Another masterpiece and a reference for a more mineral, complex delicately oaked chardonnay (1633 views)
Tasted by steinersing on 8/6/2019 & rated 94 points: Ripe and rich, not overdone. Great (2356 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 6/27/2019 & rated 94 points: A Few Miscellaneous Wines in Burgundy, Outside of Big Meals and Tastings; 6/27/2019-7/6/2019 (Burgundy): Ripe orchard fruit, Meyer lemon, mint and tropical hint aromas with similar flavors and some beeswax character. Very good weight and complexity. A rare great 2013 Chablis that is so wonderful now, with some possible upside. (2670 views)
Tasted by dcwino on 6/13/2019 & rated 95 points: Five winos excellent adventure , mostly in Burgundy; 6/7/2019-6/15/2019 (Beaune, France): Expressive nose displaying ripe tropical yellow fruit, lemon curd, a hint of pineapple, lemon oil, pine needle, sap, a hint of mint, beeswax, cool mountain stream and crushed rocks. Excellent concentration, nicely layered rich yellow fruit, rich yet nicely focused and energetic, bright acidity, strong mineral and a long ripe yellow fruit driven finish with beeswax and limestone at the end. Despite being ripe, it shows nice focus, precision and energy. Drinking beautifully. (4335 views)
Tasted by faivre_eric on 5/28/2019 & rated 95 points: Beautiful and very well balanced with richness, complexity and freshness.
Nose of ripe fruits and minerality.
Long finish. (1894 views)
Tasted by SLab on 5/19/2019 & rated 93 points: Le vin se dévoile vraiment le 2ième jour. Très élégant, pur, droit, salin avec un peu de gras. Vraiement spectaculaire. 93-94pts (1658 views)
Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 5/1/2019 & rated 96 points: A private dinner (Restaurant Le Montrachet, Puligny-Montrachet): Immediately recognisable style, marries richness and intensity with incredible elegance and drinkability. Ripe fruit, seamless and silky, creamy lemons and stone fruit, whiffs of chervil and spun sugar, flows effortlessly across the palate, its piercing minerality wrapped in the most delicate flesh. Expansive finish, excellent length. Rounder and riper than Les Clos, an essential expression of its vineyard. Total harmony. Tadellos. (1939 views)
Tasted by L-C. on 3/14/2019 & rated 92 points: From memory, no formal tasting note: First time I tasted a Raveneau wine. A nose of very ripe stone fruit; it reminded me in fact of a Rully. But then, especially in the mouth, it combined ripe flavours with a saline minerality and fantastic texture, that gave it great depth. Very long. (1342 views)
Tasted by Atmosphere on 2/11/2019 & rated 94 points: Valmur - Chablis Grand Cru - Raveneau - 2013

Encore une réussite, nez très porté sur l’iode, en bouche c’est très riche, concentré avec cependant une jolie trame minérale qui permet au vin de s’étirer. Finale salivante.

Très très bien ! (1467 views)
Tasted by CamWheeler on 12/21/2018 & rated 93 points: Beat your 2018 WOTY Dinner: Sesame, spice, melon, mandarin and lemons. Very good fruit purity, this is bright with a spark of acid that works well with the structure provided by the oak. Lifted in the glass beautifully over 25-30 minutes. Classic Raveneau. (1583 views)
Tasted by HEBRO 10 on 12/18/2018 & rated 91 points: Amazing. (1299 views)
Tasted by tinybubbles on 11/10/2017 & rated 92 points: Full on the palate with rounded lemon and limestone notes. Less cut than other vintages and the mineral depth I often like from Valmur. 92-93 (2007 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio

Chablis

Chablis (Fédération de Défense de l'Appellation Chablis) | Chablis (Burgundy Wines)

2014 Vintage Notes:
"... a hybrid of 2004/2007 and 2010. The stone, citrus and limestone amalgam is exactly what we search for in Chablis as the style harkens to a day in the Cote de Beaune proper (1960's - 1980's) when wine was not meant to be consumed the week it was released, battonage was not used by all and new oak was rarely seen ... the texture is natural and 'of the vintage' not 'of the winemaker' .... Like Sancerre or the Loire in general, 2014 in Chablis is one of those rare years with extract and transparency. It appears to be a vintage for the "neoclassic" ages and those of us intent on cellaring the most terroir-driven (but still powerful) examples of vineyard, site-place and varietal will want to invest (heavily) in the magnetic and electric 2014's." - Jon Rimmerman

2018 Vintage Notes:
"There’s not that razor sharp Chablis acidity in 2018,” says Patrick Piuze. “But there is good definition of place. The dry conditions drove vines to drink deeper down in the soil profile."
