Tasted by jwilliams6 on 5/11/2017 & rated 93 points: Bright ruby color all the way through. Intense nose of ripe red fruit, strawberry, cherry, with some tart blackberry. Dried florals, sage and thyme. Smoke and a light hint of baking spices. On the tongue, tart cherry and raspberry that turns into wonderfully smooth earthy and leather characteristics. Then herbs and pepper and finally a medium length smokey finish. Medium high acid, medium high tannins, medium body. Both fierce and delicate. Very good. (738 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
