Nose is a bit bland, with sawdust, red currant, tree bark and a generally woodsy aroma. In the mouth nothing stands out initially, then the wine turns quite bitter and overly oaky. Not a fan. 4-8-8-0: 70/100. (1247 views) | | Tasted by La Cave d'Argent on 2/19/2019 & rated 85 points: Rochemorin's 2014 iteration is a deep red/garnet blend of 60% Cabernet Sauvignon and 40% Merlot. With a core of red currant and Montmorency cherry fruit, it adds a strong note of cedar as well as accents of tobacco and bay leaf. Medium-bodied and with medium-to-high acidity, it wraps its fruit with surprisingly supple tannins. The wine's alcohol (listed as 13%) is nicely integrated, as is its oak component. Solid in the middle, it goes on to close with a tart, medium-length finish. This is respectable but nothing memorable. I doubt that additional cellaring will be helpful. Drink now-2026.
