Community Tasting Notes (average 88.4 pts. and median of 88 pts. in 23 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Doblk on 6/6/2020 & rated 90 points: Well put together WB. Nice mix of fruit and minerality. On the delicate side. This bottle was under $20 and well priced, though it looks like it is usually more. (1340 views)
Tasted by psi on 8/29/2019 & rated 88 points: I really liked this wine for what it was. Still a bit expensive, though! (1564 views)
Tasted by Jzizzle on 8/4/2019 & rated 89 points: There is lots right about this wine, and it may deserve the 90, but just a bit too ripe for my taste. Still, great intensity, nicely balanced fruit and acidity, great length. No complaints, but missing my sweet spot... (1587 views)
Tasted by chbeaumont on 5/19/2019 & rated 88 points: Attractive, well built, balanced, good typicité. Can be enjoyed now & next couple of years. (1738 views)
Tasted by PasoWallaWill on 4/15/2019 & rated 88 points: Nice pale golden yellow color. Nice upfront flavors of green apple, pear and hint of lemon. Good acidity. This is short on the nose and finish but still quite enjoyable. (1662 views)
Tasted by psi on 2/22/2019 & rated 88 points: Nice, and balanced (601 views)
Tasted by Alpton on 8/31/2018 & rated 89 points: Ripe apple and pear, toasted bread, lemon, hint of oak. Elegant wine with a bright acidity, a clean mid palate and a touch of oak on the finish. As it warms up the pear flavor gets upfront, but the acidity stays bright. Pretty tasty. Had it with ceci neri felafel with tzatziki dressing on lettuce leaves. (820 views)
Tasted by peterchoy on 5/3/2018 & rated 85 points: Appearance: Bright and clear, pale lemon in color, with watery rims and legs.
Nose: Clean, with light intensity aromas of citrus fruit of lime and lemon, floral notes of blossom, mineral notes of stony, herbaceous notes of hay. The wine is youthful.
Palate: Dry with medium (+) acidity, the wine has medium alcohol, light body and medium intensity flavors of citrus notes of lime and lemon, floral notes of blossom, stone fruit of peach, kernel notes of roasted almond. The wine has a medium finish.
Conclusion: Acceptable quality Pouilly-Fuisse with relatively weak nose showing only simple aromas, the wine has a much better performance on the palate, with good acidity and freshness while also exhibiting reasonable concentration and finish. It is ready to drink now and not meant for further ageing. (1253 views)
Tasted by BradleyF on 4/22/2018 & rated 94 points: Fantastic, light and fruiti but not sweet (931 views)
Tasted by David J Cooper on 1/27/2018 & rated 88 points: Clear light yellow. The nose began very Chablis like but got richer as the wine warmed up. Lemon, mineral and a hint of creaminess. The flavours were quit rich, mostly lemon and pear. The finish while rich was balanced by some nice acid. (1073 views)
Tasted by MickPegg on 1/7/2018 & rated 89 points: OK flavor but not enough complexity or finish for the price. (1034 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 11/18/2017: Full and rice-y. Meaning it smells like rice. Lots of contacts in pouilly. More defined. Blowsy (1111 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 6/30/2017 & rated 85 points: Bouchard Père et Fils "Entry Level" 2015 Vintage Tasting (Beaune): Tasting, brief note. Lean for the vintage with good energy. (1412 views)
Tasted by ews3 on 5/5/2017 & rated 86 points: tasted at large walkaround tasting. nice citrus driven profile has some asian pear and sweet spice. somewhat simple, this has a slight astringency on the palate. med(-) finish. (884 views)
Tasted by tanglenet on 4/20/2017: Opened not decanted and served chilled. Fresh cut grass on the nose with hay and honey lime notes. Nice acidity on the entry with bright yellow citrus fruit; light to medium weight in body. Ends with a sour lemon lime finish with some dark tastes and a touch of heat. Good. (820 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
