https://www.ItalianWine.blog (1798 views) | | Tasted by rocknroller on 7/8/2018 & rated 91 points: Monthly Tasting Group: Interesting Whites (ABC) at Heirloom (Heirloom, St.Paul, MN): Small pour. Would have liked to get more of this. Very crisp and fresh, tart green and tropical fruits, white flowers, nicely defined and lifted. (2207 views) | | Tasted by chcook on 6/14/2017: PNP. cork wet to top. this is light in style, but has a little fatness in the midpalate that is buoyed by acid. refreshing enough but nothing special. was not a great match with our monkfish peas and prosciutto
After a week in the fridge this has picked up some weight and took on a salinity that I find very nice. Maybe just needs a little time in bottle or air if served now (2323 views) | | Tasted by Bob H on 11/20/2016: Light golden-colored in the glass; "crisp" nose.
Sweet and sour white fruits, good acidity here and nice persistence. Very likable and food-friendly, but also able to stand on it's own. (2623 views) | | Tasted by Bob H on 10/30/2016: Light yellow in the glass, with a nice minerality on the nose.
Brisk and light-bodied on the palate, some saline notes as well, and decent acidity & length on the finish. I posted a note yesterday where I mentioned the benefits of "stepping up" (in that case with respect to Pepiere's Clos des Briords) - I would make the same point here, as I usually find the Fiore is worth the additional cost when compared to their Normale. (2511 views) | | Tasted by Tim Heaton on 5/21/2016: Opened on Tuesday, probably served too cold, because I really could not find much to enjoy. Fast forward to Saturday, with the time in between spent in the fridge, and this is ready. Really comes across more as a French white (read: Chablis) than a Tuscan white. Purchased at Enoteca Corsi (€16) in San Gimignano on the recommendation of the owner. I will look for this when I'm back in the states; this will easily cellar for 1-2 years. 13,5% abv. (resolved). highly recommended
Served non-blind.
https://italianwine.blog/ (2237 views) | | Tasted by Bob H on 5/20/2016: Similar in color to the Collestefano Verdicchio; fairly neutral nose on opening.
Medium-bodied white, with good persistence. Decent acidity, but less prominent than the other three wines I just tasted, so this wine doesn't come across quite as lively. Good, but I may need to try this "solo" to properly judge it's merits, as it's style is overshadowed right now by the previous wines. (1378 views) |
