| Community Tasting Notes (average 92.2 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 15 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by cephomer on 6/11/2023 & rated 93 points: Blanco supplied for dinner at Champetre last nite. First time I've had the 2015, but always love this producer's PM. Lovely aromas of fruit on the nose, along with that musty white Burg scent that I love. Big and meaty in style with a round, weighty mouthfeel. Though big in style, good acidity level provides structure. A bit sweet, particularly on the back end. Long, delicious finish showcases notes of tropical fruit. Enjoyable wine. (398 views) | | Tasted by Palisades57 on 9/16/2022 & rated 92 points: I had a previous bottle of this wine in 2020, and in error listed as a 2014. I left this note:
“Shows the vintage. Better with time and food. Have some under argon and will see if it gets better.”
Today I opened another bottle. It is much much improved. I have found this with my 2015‘s. They are really developing.
Some initial smoke suggesting reduction that quickly blows off. Then some ripe yellow orchard fruit and maybe a tropical note but not dominating. Good acidity — not linear but somewhat broad and mouth coating, with a long tasty finish.
I’ve been concerned re 2015, but at least in isolation from better vintages the good producers are shining. Overall in a good spot. (543 views) | | Tasted by swade on 6/14/2021 & rated 92 points: Lovely orchard fruit aromas and flavors. Satiny texture stood out. Served chilled with grilled bacon wrapped scallops on a hot summer day. Fine. 92 (1030 views) | | Tasted by Lord of the Bottles on 6/6/2019 & rated 92 points: At 67 Pall Mall. Still young with lot’s of primary sub tropical fruit and some oak. Nicely balanced. (1957 views) | | Tasted by Tim2 on 8/16/2018 & rated 91 points: Refreshing with grilled halibut, wild rice, grilled whole tomates, olive oil fried okra and corn on the cobb. (1941 views) | | Tasted by theusualsuspect on 4/28/2018 & rated 89 points: Plenty juicy, but at this point pretty much a mouthful of dried pineapple, not my favorite characteristic in white burgundy. Sometimes these tropical notes fade, sometimes they don't. Tropical fruity white burgundy vintages don't appeal to me at all. To each his own. (1869 views) | | Tasted by Xavier Auerbach on 2/26/2018 & rated 93 points: A private tasting (Restaurant De Ertepeller, Papendrecht. NL): Tasted blind. A very powerful style, meaty almost, big and weighty, firm and structured, restrained but still a blockbuster, mouthfilling, tropical edge, aniseed, amazing length. (2023 views) | | Tasted by dvansteenderen on 2/26/2018 & rated 92 points: Tasted blind. Very powerful and intense. Deliciously long aftertaste, truly possesses the meaty Folatières character! (1413 views) | | Tasted by Burgundy Al on 12/9/2017 & rated 91 points: Burgundy 2015 Tasting (Knightsbridge - Northbrook IL): Tasting, brief note. Nicely floral start with ripe orchard fruit aromas and background spice. Same flavors, nicely fleshy, but restrained and balanced. Very good now. (2159 views) | | Tasted by srh on 6/17/2017: Winebar [3 Whites & 6 Reds] from 06/16/17 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): N: GORGEOUS aromas of mushrooms & smoke with undertones of lemons
P: Med, poss MF, body; Rndish entry with almost swtish frt met by mid-P acidity that slowly morphs into a LONG, somewhat smoky finish with an intriguing tangy/swtness. Still coming together (N currently way ahead of the rest), everything SEEMS there for cellaring into '19, then drinking for at least 3 yrs thereafter. 90-92 pts Vinous (Tanzer), 90 WA, & 16.5/20 Jancis Robinson. [Tasted @ what I suspect to be an out-of-stock $79.95, as of early Feb '19, wine-searcher still shows several U.S sources from $75-$100.] (525 views) | | Tasted by Burgundy Al on 6/29/2016: Wednesday Cellar Visits in Burgundy - Paul Pernot, Grivot and Hudelot-Noellat (Cote d'Or): Barrel tasting at the domaine. Rich fruit aromas with prominent floral and spice support. Superstar textures in great balance. Very good++ for its level, 92-93 point potential. (2588 views) |

2018 vintage: "marked by a wet spring, a superb summer and a good harvest" 2019 vintage reports 2021: "From a general standpoint, whether for white, rosé or red wines, 2021 is a year marked by quality in the Rhône Valley Vineyards. Structured, elegant, fresh and fruity will be the main keywords for this new vintage." 2022 harvest: idealwine.info | wine-searcher.comBurgundy Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)
Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes: * "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons * "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson * "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson
# 2014 Vintage Notes: "We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates
# 2015 Vintage Notes: "Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson
# 2017 Vintage Notes: "Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson
# 2018 Vintage Notes: "The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
