Tasted by mattb76 on 12/24/2023: Enjoyable. With lobster and crab. (399 views)
Tasted by Musigny1955 on 8/24/2023 & rated 92 points: {bought 2 on release, perfect fill} Gorgeous, very pretty stupendously Folatieres fruit nose, super lovely, a tender perfume. Tender and a pointe on palate too. Open now and will drink my 2nd bottle within 2 years. 17 does not have the acid edge of the 14s, enjoy this very well made wine in next few years while at peak, not a long-term wine based on structure. . Cleverly and knowingly made wine. Tonight I think the Pucelles drunk last night (93) just pips this but you might differ. Drink soon, Bacchanalian. (597 views)
Tasted by sdwineguru on 4/23/2023 & rated 92 points: 2017 Paul Pernot et ses Fils Puligny-Montrachet 1er Cru Clos des Folatières ($88 in 2020). Sharp mid-gold; complex citrus, stone fruit, mineral, vanilla and honey nose; mid+ acids; balanced; good depth of fruit; long semi-lush honey and peach finish. w/halibut. 17-17.5 UC Davis scale, 92-93 other scales. (724 views)
Tasted by nynrgtrader@gmail.com on 4/26/2022: Pale Lemon (green tinge)

White floral nose with a hint of nuttiness, clean, wet slate

Gummy fruits, lemon, some hints of smoke, granny smith apple, full bodied palate but just med acidity (1272 views)
Tasted by A_rytter on 3/13/2022: Lovely wine albeit somewhat restrained. Sweet spices, vanilla, some lingering fruit. Overall very ballanced. (1179 views)
Tasted by melvinyeowq on 11/23/2020: DIAM closure. Infanticide but I wanted to check in on how 2017s are developing since it’s a vintage I went heavy on. Thankfully from this sample size of one it seems like the hype is warranted. Very pretty floral notes of elderflower, ripe citrus and yellow fruits. Some oak treatment but does not obscure the lovely minerality. Developed to put on more weight to give a rounder texture. Very persistent finish. (2211 views)
Tasted by vulgar little monkey on 6/7/2020 & rated 91 points: What's interesting here is that this ticks all the boxes, plenty of lemon-drop, peach and other yellow citrus and pitted fruits, a bit of stones underneath. It screams textbook 1er Puligny but doesn't really grab my attention. I've enjoyed the character of the Thévenet wines we love or even the Prudhon St. Aubins we've been drinking more than this. Maybe it's too young or maybe it's just too "correct". I've got more, so I guess we'll see. (2163 views)
 Tasted by Tim2 on 4/4/2020 & rated 93 points: Lovely! (2133 views)
Tasted by beatles on 10/25/2019 & rated 93 points: Tasted vis-a-vis the 2016 and on the day this was just a wee bit superior; nerveux, vibrant, mineral, citrus galore, butter, white Burgundy at it's best, I love this. Will keep.

Tasted by srh on 9/28/2019: Winebar [1 Rosé, 3 Whites, 8 Reds, & 7 *shared* bottles] from 09/27/19 (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): According to Clive Coates, primarily a grower

N: Butter with minerals & lemons, forest floor coming forward

P: MF body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, ALMOST swtish OAK/frt counterbalanced by a crisp acidity which does become the driving force through the LONG, balanced, tangy/swt finish with OCCASIONAL *hints* of honey? NEEDS through '20 for oak to meld, then drinking through '24? My EXC, poss more eventually. 91-94 pts Vinous (Tanzer), 92 WA (Kelley), 91 Burghound, & 16/20 Jancis Robinson. [This vendor's $84.95 is now in the TOP quartile of wine-searcher's postings.] (2152 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 9/9/2019 & rated 92 points: Fine Vines Fall 2019 Portfolio Tasting (City Winery - Chicago IL): Walk-around tasting, brief note. Wonderfully floral start with spice notes alongside apple and pear. Impeccable balance with very good weight and an expanding finish. This will reward a few more years in the cellar, best 2021 forward. (2354 views)
Tasted by Vinnut on 8/11/2019 & rated 94 points: Subsequent notes on this wine. Medium golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, pears, citrus notes of lemons/limes & grapefruit with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle, spices & somewhat stony/flinty notes with a subtle hint of vanilla/oak. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush, ripe fruit flavors of apples, pears & lemons/limes with minerals, flinty, stony & a hint of vanilla/oak. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but needs additional time to fully develop at which time the score should be higher (95+). May be the best 1er Cru offering from this exceptional producer. Well worth seeking out & acquiring a few bottles. (1314 views)

Tasted by Vinnut on 3/30/2019 & rated 93 points: Medium golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of apples, pears, citrus notes of lemons/limes & grapefruit with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle & minerals, stony & a subtle hint of toasty oak. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, lush, ripe fruit flavors of apples, pears & lemons/limes with minerals, flinty, stony & a hint of toasty oak. Long lingering finish. Drinks quite well at present but needs additional time to fully develop at which time the score should be higher. (970 views)
Tasted by srh on 3/30/2019: Winebar [1 Rosé, 3 Whts, & 8 Reds] from 03/29/19 + 5 Shared Reds (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): N: CLOSED; Minerals, apples? Butter/toast with swirling? Intensity lurking?

P: Med body; RNDISH entry with NICE, almost swtish oak/frt elegantly counterbalanced by an acidity which fairly seamlessly evolves into a LONG, tangy/swt finish with a very, VERY slight bitterness. Tight now, NEEDS through '19, then drinking through '22 without difficulty. My EXC-, more eventually? [This vendor's $84.95 is a stunning $10 < than the lowest of wine-searcher's currently limited entries!]

Note: Almost certainly from the same bottle as Vinnut this same date. (1225 views)
Tasted by rossi.wine on 1/9/2019 & rated 92 points: Tasted after 2017 P-M Villages. More depth, concentration and detail. Fresh, dense, mineral and quite approachable at this stage. Good energy to the finish, quite long. 91-92+ (1324 views)
Tasted by Burgundy Al on 6/25/2018: Paul Pernot Cellar Visit, Tasting 2017s (Day 2, Visit 1) (Puligny-Montrachet): Tasting at the domaine. Cross-section of orchard fruit aromas and flavors with the best textures so far. Very dense and long, while also already balanced and easily approached. VG+ for its level. Once again in 2017 I prefer this over Pucelles. (1559 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 1/24/2018: More evergreen and fresh on the nose. More sorted out right now with less CO2 and more straight right now. (1097 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
