Tasted by mbidder954 on 9/2/2020 & rated 90 points: Delicious red cherries. Nice acidity, rustic tannins, yet still polished. Some mint/eucalyptus. Tasty and good value. (1546 views)
Tasted by to_sty on 8/20/2020 & rated 89 points: On first day somehow unharmonic and rather sharp. Definitely much fuller and wider with less unharmonic acidity on the second evening. This will still develop. (1474 views)

Tasted by df1962 on 9/19/2018 & rated 90 points: Ripe fresh evolving. Fruit forwar with nice earthy mushroom notes. Case worthy. Based on the 2011 vintage will get better with age. We (1713 views)
Tasted by Macki on 9/11/2018: Very pleasant and soft. Cherry and savory. High tone fruit. Very drinkable. (1388 views)
Tasted by mats13 on 7/28/2018 & rated 88 points: No notes taken, but I did take note my score, sorry not very helpful. (1491 views)
Tasted by TannicBeast on 7/16/2018 & rated 90 points: Chianti Classico Experience in Houston. From the Monti area in the Gaiole in Chianti Area, NE of Siena. Classic 90% Sangiovese blend which includes 10% Colorino, Canaiolo and Ciliegiolo. The color is clear, medium ruby. The nose is clean, a little closed for the time being, with aromas red cherry, pomegranate, dried herbs, red licorice and some oak spice from the 12 months in French and Austrian oak casks. The palate is dry, with medium (+) acidity and tannins and high alcohol (14.0%), although the alcohol seems a little lower. This is a very nicely balanced, medium (+) bodied red which is fine on its own and even better with food. It is just now entering its optimal drinking window and should show well for several more years. This is a great value Chianti Classico from a top producer at under $17.00. (1142 views)
Tasted by jonathanknowles on 6/27/2018 & rated 87 points: Red fruit and cedar smell. Medium body, nice grippy tannins. Pleasant drying finish. Very savoury. (1053 views)
Tasted by mats13 on 6/4/2018 & rated 88 points: Fine pan-italian qpr restaurant selection. Not much more to say than that. (1100 views)
Tasted by R Z on 4/11/2018 & rated 91 points: Quite good, moderately-priced chianti classico, organically grown, with ripe fruit, smooth tannins and long finish, from the excellent 2015 vintage. 90% sangiovese. Really satisfying. 17++ from Jancis Robinson. An old friend from Tuscany, and a bargain in this vintage. (1153 views)
Tasted by Tim Heaton on 8/16/2017: Good freshness, with some bright citrus, red apple, tangy cherry, and sunny soil aromas. The palate is medium-bodied, well-lifted, clean and almost too easy to drink. A nice vintage for this wine, it's already quite drinkable; even better this time next year. From four vineyards in Monti area, vinified 3 weeks on skins, then 12 months in Austrian (botti grandi) and Fr. tonneau. Classic. Drink now thru 2023. recommended

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
