Tasted by Brockster303 on 1/2/2024 & rated 90 points: Fine..not as nice as the Fontodinwe had the night before. (249 views)
Tasted by BoxerBee on 5/14/2023 & rated 91 points: Floral and autumnal nose. Understated and graceful, with cherry fruit, violet, mushroom, tilled earth. Perfect with steak of veal. In its prime, drink within 2-3 years. (474 views)
Tasted by Butzemann on 12/17/2021 & rated 90 points: D+0h: no deposit in the filter nor in the bottle, smells of cherry and raspberry D+4h: purple red, smells of smoke, cherry and eucalyptus, medium body, smooth in the mouth, dry, but not in in tart way, in the mouth smoke, raspberry (or is sour cherry?) and blackberry, in the aftertaste smoke, blackberry and cherry, good length (30 sec). Really great Chianti for the price. Much, much better than two years ago. And actually much better than the 2016 Brolio Chianti Classico I tasted recently. (1359 views)
Tasted by jschoenau on 5/23/2021 & rated 90 points: A bit acidic upon opening which softens in one half to one hour (1503 views)
Tasted by Goodbread on 1/23/2021 & rated 90 points: Still showing nicely. A bit muted on day 1. Nice balance, on the lighter side but fun enough. Good year, better than others I've had.

Prominent dark red fruit still and secondaries are increasing. Seems like it has a year or two more...or it's entering a sleep, maybe? Drinking beautifully now and a great QPR. (1676 views)
Tasted by afields on 12/5/2020: This is understated, doesn’t draw attention to itself, but it’s elegant and classic in a way that makes me think of a very proper/well mannered elderly person’s home. Maybe that’s because there’s a leather character that's similar to outdated leather furniture, along with dried flowers and incense in a potpourri sort of way, and restrained dark red fruit (the style is not mainly about fruit).

M to M- tannin, M to M- body, and M+ acid though the energy is pretty laid back. I like it and look forward to trying it with more bottle age, though in a way it feels old already, as it’s balanced and not at all primary. 6.4/10 (1695 views)
Tasted by Thomas B on 7/23/2020 & rated 88 points: Well made and balanced, a lighter style Chianti Classico with a hint of cherry, strawberry & licorice. (1742 views)
Tasted by Thomas B on 3/21/2020 & rated 89 points: At first opening a wide of...? Made me question if it might be corked. 15 mins in the glass and that had cleared but seemed lighter than a 4 year old should be. A little fruit, cranberry and strawberry but all very mild.
In an hour it opened to reveal much deeper flavors of blueberry, strawberry, still a hint of cranberry, and some light acid.
Motto? Decant! (1497 views)
(1398 views)
Tasted by cstir on 11/12/2019 & rated 89 points: Flavorful, well-balanced chianti classico; good depth with moderate complexity; nice finish. (1471 views)
Tasted by iDrum4Wine on 10/30/2019 & rated 92 points: Purple hue that opens with potpourri and tomato leaf aromas. Herbaceous roasted tomato and black cherry flavors dominate up front while leather and espresso notes linger on the lasting finish. Great acidity/fruit balance with still dominant tannins. This wine will be more amazing in the years to follow. Savoring a bottle for the next 12 years. (1343 views)
Tasted by RolandMillie on 10/16/2019 & rated 89 points: Pretty, floral CC. Nice. (1169 views)
Tasted by swade on 10/7/2019 & rated 90 points: I let this breathe up for an hour. Burgundy color. Earthy aromas. This features ripe cherries, raspberry liqueur, a flitting brandy note and then it spreads out and finishes with a long mineral wash. Dry finish. Clean finish. Medium-light body. Some embedded structure to hold it up - no rush. 90 (1095 views)

Tasted by Weinberg Falls on 8/28/2019 & rated 87 points: Weinberg tours Chianti: Fresh, acidic. Well made but too young and thin for me, tannins were cloying and acidity rather overbearing. (1104 views)
Tasted by srh on 7/13/2019: Taste Italy (San Diego Wine Co.): Supposedly 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo, 3% Ciliegiolo, & 2% Colorino from 15-40 yr old vines planted in clay & limestone rock soils with S, SE, & SW exposures @ 260-370m elev; "Hand picked grapes ferment with indigenous yeasts; Cap managed with punchdown; Maceration on the skins for 3 wks; Aged 12 mos in FR & Austrian oak casks of varying sizes;"

N: Slightly closed; Cherries, earth; Intensity lurking?

P: LM body; NICE, almost swtish frt met by an astringent pucker which pretty much works itself out by the LONG, balanced finish with a tangy/swtness to the dusty tannins. NEEDS/deserves 6-12 mos, then drinking for 3-4 yrs more. However, might be BEST for devotees of high acidity. 14% ABV; My VG+/EXC-. 93 pts WS, 90 ea Wine & Spiritis, WA, & Decanter (Waldin), 89 Vinous (Galloni), and 17/20 (2x) Jancis Robinson (Speller & Harding)! [This vendor's $17.99 puts it @ the bottom of wine-searcher's TOP quartile.] (1362 views)
Tasted by westopherguy on 7/4/2019 & rated 87 points: A perfectly reasonable and enjoyable Chianti Classico that nevertheless doesn't seem to stand out from the crowd in any particular way. (1159 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 7/2/2019: Smell really pretty on the nose. Super pretty, lots of gumption on the palate. That is really darn good. (1302 views)
Tasted by Doc90 on 6/23/2019 & rated 90 points: Strong saline on the nose (like someone punctured a bag of NS), dried Italian kitchen herbs, strawberry coulis. Sweet and fruity up front, refreshing strawberry salsa. Correct acidity, heavy saline. Pleasing Chianti. (959 views)
Tasted by OaktownRush on 6/5/2019 & rated 89 points: Ripe red fruit with a certain creaminess on the nose. On the palate there's cherries and a touch of herbs that aren't quite dried and not quite fresh -- medium(+) acidity and medium tannins. There's some nice length here, finishes with a mineral note.

It's maybe a little one dimensional, but has a real nice sense of clarity and length. (1097 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 5/9/2019: So Serious and good that it will fly over your head. (1146 views)
Tasted by Lyubomir Lefterov on 4/19/2019 & rated 90 points: Chianti Classico tour 2019 - 2 -Conca D'Oro in Panzano + B a C: What a step above the coltibuono chianti rs, so nicely tuned. Cheries, spices, violets, tobacco and vibrant acidity. (1262 views)
Tasted by wgilbert3 on 4/1/2019 & rated 87 points: Nice Chianti Classico for the money. Classic earthy nose with a bit of fruit; Light body with good acid but well balanced with red fruit, hints of mushroom and a medium finish. Not a great CC but better than many, esp. considering the price (962 views)
Tasted by nzinkgraf on 2/19/2019: 7 Days in Italy II; 2/17/2019-2/23/2019: Beautiful aromas, yes red fruit aromas, nuanced plum and celery seed, gets this out of sight. Some easy wild red fruit spice on the palate too. Very fine. (1476 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
