It opened a little bit over the course of an hour, and paired reasonably well with the pork which was smoked and had a black pepper rub. That being said, I was a bit disappointed. (1336 views) |

Rich fruit emerges after sulfites blow off and I can get a whiff of the acids too, interesting. Palate rocks with pristine fruit and plenty of cleansing acidity. I wonder if it’s all natural? I like it regardless. Very refined and balanced and very drinkable. Medium minus tannins and better than average length. Could use more complexity but maybe with time. P: Med, poss MF, body; Rndish entry with ALMOST swtish frt off-set by some puckerish astringency which slowly morphs into a LONG, very slightly tangy finish with a swtness to the dusty tannins with OCCASIONAL notes of bitterness. Deserves/NEEDS 12, maybe 18, mos cellaring, then drinking for 3-4 yrs more. Wonder if too sweet for me. Actually residual berry in the mouth and pleasant. Very drinkable with tannins low after decanting for and hour. Very easy to drink. Would buy more if I can get the 2015. Decanted an hour and then consumed over the next two. Nice color and bouquet, but very disappointing on the palate. Very simple and sharp. Tasted like tart cherries. Maybe it would improve in the next couple of years, but I doubt it would do so significantly. (1219 views) |
