(1152 views) | | Tasted by Rbtrage on 5/17/2022 & rated 93 points: Tastes like a CS + CF blend to me. A little lighter than Morlet, Dana and Dalla Valle cabs I drank right before this but no debate this is a great wine! (920 views) | | Tasted by dfcrutcher on 5/4/2022 & rated 93 points: Very supple and smooth. Medium to heavy weight. Concentrated black fruit. This is very nice. (935 views) | | Tasted by SipsnTips on 11/28/2021 & rated 96 points: wow! fantastic. fruit was luscious and enjoyable. tannins softening but still there to give support. Loved this bottle. (1221 views) | | Tasted by Chris Keller on 10/6/2021 & rated 93 points: Aged in color with notes of musk, blueberry, blackberry, luxardo cherry, licorice, leather, Nicaraguan tobacco, underbrush, pepper and dark chocolate... awesome stuff. Now- 2028. (1337 views) | | Tasted by Rick 4 Wine on 2/24/2021 & rated 95 points: Drinking beautifully here. Still have a soft decant but could have done 30 minutes of slowox. Everything you’d want from a middle aged Napa cab. I had to double check that I wasn’t drinking the reserve! This is well built and nicely integrated. (1788 views) | | Tasted by Daisyboo on 9/20/2020 & rated 90 points: Heavy and great with a good ribeye (1857 views) | | Tasted by Daisyboo on 9/20/2020 & rated 90 points: Heavy (1725 views) | | Tasted by DMET on 4/17/2020 & rated 95 points: Phenomenal! Nice nose of licorice, tobacco and some cherries. Smooth taste and Avery subtle finish. Felt perfect! (1987 views) | | Tasted by hanasowner on 3/29/2020 & rated 86 points: Opened 30 minutes ahead...some bricking with a little fruit profile...more earthy and tea/spice...medium finish..past its prime in my opinion. (1799 views) | | Tasted by rmcnees on 3/15/2020 & rated 91 points: Tasted from winelist at Delray Beach Wine Room.
Bright garnet ruby colored, medium full bodied, full forward blackberry fruits accented by notes of bitter dark chocolate, black tea, and hints of creosote and tones of graphite, cedar and oak with supple full tannins on the lingering finish. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2020/03/delray-beach-wine-room-kitchen-wine-and.html (1609 views) | | Tasted by Yankee Clipper on 8/31/2019 & rated 90 points: drinking ok but not as flavorful as I hoped. (1905 views) | | Tasted by bryon m on 7/13/2019 & rated 92 points: Color and clarity and weight were perfect. Combination of fruit - Berries and oak from start to finish. The finish last a long time! Excellent wine. Not getting better but still excellent ! (792 views) | | Tasted by meistereder on 5/28/2019 & rated 92 points: Ripe plum, overripe blueberries, baseball glove strings and currant tapioca with vanilla sauce. (2063 views) | | Tasted by Night Train on 5/25/2019 & rated 89 points: Still delicious after all these years. Seriously, this is still pretty yummy, but the tannins are completely gone. Good as a quaffer, but, as a food wine, it's past time to drink up. (1739 views) | | Tasted by Ravi Deshpande on 5/19/2019 & rated 92 points: Beautiful maturing Pride regular CS. Deep cherry and red fruits, maybe blueberries, round secondary aromas, low acidity and low tannic grip. Drank with lamb chops - it’s not particularly a food wine - we also had some Beaucastel and that sang with the lamb - but it’s delicious nonetheless. Almost as good as the 06. (1694 views) | | Tasted by Wrkolbeck on 3/18/2019 & rated 90 points: Red & blue fruit on the nose, dark fruit palate, balanced oak, softening tannins. Would be better with an hour decant. (1817 views) | | Tasted by Night Train on 3/2/2019 & rated 88 points: Took to a party, so no detailed notes. Not as rich as past vintages, and the tannins are mostly MIA. Time to drink up. (1418 views) | | Tasted by kenthargis on 2/18/2019 & rated 92 points: Lovely bottle. Long finish, nice mountain fruit. Great spot now, but has much more time ahead. | Pride Mountain Vineyards Producer website2008 Pride Mountain Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon Producer's Tech NotesCabernet SauvignonCabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.
Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet SauvignonUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson North CoastThe North Coast American Viticultural Area (AVA) in California, covering more than three million acres, includes Napa, Sonoma, Mendocino and Lake counties, and portions of Marin and Solano counties.
