| Tasted by brigcampbell on 3/2/2024: Blind. Thought it was Italian. Maybe Friuli? No idea on the variety.
The nose led me to believe that it was Italian. It had a cheesy aroma at the beginning and a little bit of brett. It was very interesting. Medium plus mouthfeel, has the presence and weight of a red wine. Yellow apple with an edge. Nice acidity with a combination of mineral and citrus. (449 views) |
| Tasted by goodvitis.com on 1/22/2024 & rated 95 points: Drank with friends, no formal note. This is drinking very nicely and showing promise for a long life. Full bodied, round and bright acid to go with some very real alcohol. Big mouthfeel, very smooth. Slightly buttered tinge to the nose and palate. No rush. (423 views) |
| Tasted by corbettgabriel@gmail.com on 12/13/2022: Drank for Anniversary dinner with Alex at Xiquet.
Fantastic wine. Opened up very Cheesy, funky but developed into a ripe fruit character with lots of mineral character. First time ever having the Pecorino and definitely a fun wine to try. (798 views) |
| Tasted by WinoRick on 10/20/2022: So different, it is hard to rate. Undoubtedly, well vinified but so big and rustic that we couldn't identify what foods it would match with. More of a curiosity than a table wine. (1275 views) |
| Tasted by dsamuel on 7/12/2022 & rated 90 points: Medium gold color Medium plus aromas of primarily apple cider at first which eventually partially subsided to reveal dry herbal qualities/ tarragon and wooly aromas Medium plus palate of apple skins and lemon with distinct bitter quality - no mention of this in wine notes but I get some extended skin contact? Medium plus acidity and moderate phenolic bitterness as noted Medium plus alcohol and lengthy finish, primarily driven by this bitterness Very unique wine which Im certain will have some polarizing opinions - I personally am right in the middle - Quite enjoyable but Im not desiring more of this as I find the bitter quality dominating at least at this time Drink now as I really have no idea regarding aging ability and Im not finding much in the way of primary fruit presently (1406 views) |
| Tasted by S.Wayne on 7/10/2022 & rated 90 points: Medium gold Aromatics medium. Apple cider, wool, spice and lee's cream Palate has medium body. Acid medium +. Moderate phenolics. Alcohol medium +. Skin contact apparent. Apple seeds Finish has medium + length with balance pushed towards the bitter. Dry glass notes of wool and apple skins Drink now Didn't know what to expect, but was interesting. Just a little too bitter for me. (1226 views) |
| Tasted by acyso on 7/8/2022 & rated 85 points: Friday hangout at Domaine (Chicago, IL): Not (very) volatile like many other Pepe wines. This one is a lot more normal. Still, I don't like the wooly nature here, nor the floral, mushroomy, aldehydic, and otherwise disparately odd flavours (and combinations thereof). (1977 views) |
| Tasted by levicn on 7/2/2022 & rated 91 points: 淡金黄色,闻香有明显的橘皮味,一些白花香气,还能捕捉到淡淡皮毛气息,入口酸度中高,酒液咸,橙花混合着橘子一类的果香,口感非常的明亮,令人印象深刻的集中度,后段有些苦味和辛辣感,浓缩的柑橘类水果味和花香充满了能量感。我觉得比起它们家另外一款名气更大的白葡萄酒,这一支更有表现力,更加充满活力。 (965 views) |

| Tasted by melvinyeowq on 8/29/2021: Emidio Pepe tasting (Clos Pasoh): A very serious Pecorino compared to the supermarket plonk that I tried back when I was in Europe. Very good weight with a waxy and round texture, zesty acidity. Tremendously gulpable wine. (1585 views) |
| Tasted by DavilaDC on 4/16/2021 & rated 92 points: Golden honey color with an initial nose of a Belgian Lambic (sour beer), wool and a hint of mint. Such an odd yet intriguing wine. Definitely needs hearty food as this would destroy delicate seafood. PnP this time and that may have been a mistake as the sourness faded with time. Immediately sought out more for scientific research purposes. (1707 views) |
| Tasted by kingkanu on 6/13/2020: Abruzzo seen from the eyes of Emidio Pepe (67@Home Zoom Tasting): the Pecorino was first made in 2006 says Chiara although I've read it was 2010 elsewhere. Slightly darker gold than the Trebbiano and has a touch of sulphur on the nose still. savoury, with some swirling you start to get a bit of nectarine and white flowers. Nice rich texture but balanced with nice acidity, there's apricot, ripe nectarine, soft cashew nut, savoury and very long finish. (2415 views) |
| Tasted by adnorthup on 4/20/2020 & rated 92 points: Really not sure what to make of it. Has a bit of oxidative funk that I usually associate with Beaujolais Gamay that I often enjoy but confuses me when looking at the wine. Lots of honey and yellow flowers. Medium mouthfeel, lovely golden color. Drank with fresh trofie pasta with an arugula and pistachio pesto (with an insane amount of garlic) that is paired with greatly. Will be a buyer next time this becomes available. (2451 views) |
| Tasted by Nick4378 on 3/6/2020 & rated 91 points: Acacia flowers on the nose. Honeyed palate with yellow and white fruits. Good acid to pair with non tomato sauce based pasta dishes (2083 views) |

| Tasted by CMN on 12/15/2019 & rated 91 points: Quite complex, with flavors of hay, yellow orchard fruits, yellow plums and a slight oxidative note. Clearly at the very beginning of its drinking window; I suspect this can drink well for 15+ years from vintage. Super interesting, with moderate upside potential. (1427 views) |
| Tasted by peternelson on 6/23/2019 & rated 91 points: Aromatic glue, golden yellow, fresh apricot, mango, passion fruit, but in a bitter tropical way and more subtle, little funk, with some lifting freshness; soft, creamy, almost heavy on the palate with some reduc; med. acid, good concentration, med+ length. Excellent wine, bit more alc. and weight and shorter than the trebbiano. At the winery for dinner (1177 views) |
