Tasted by Baron Slick on 5/16/2021 & rated 92 points: Fresh and vibrant, with pineapple, honeydew, and lemon drop flavors caressed by wisps of toast. Picks up spices on the long and focused finish. Tasty and really well put together. (521 views)
Tasted by Z1nnfull on 11/5/2020 & rated 90 points: Really nice Monterey County style Chard at a good price.
Pineapple, vanilla and oak. Maybe not everyone's style, but for what they set out to do, it is a 90 IMO. (705 views)
Tasted by Wine Life Elevated on 7/11/2020 & rated 90 points: One of my value Chardonnay go-tos. Even with present oak, butter and vanilla the overall impression is elegant and not overdone. (771 views)
Tasted by RichWill64 on 4/29/2020 & rated 85 points: A little old, but still good. (721 views)
Tasted by daver852 on 6/14/2019 & rated 82 points: This wine does not taste like what Chardonnay should taste like. Medium color, very strange nose. Hard to describe - plastic? Very neutral on the palate; some sweet fruit, maybe pineapple and a little citrus, a touch of bitterness on the finish. There is a fair degree of acidity, but still gives the impression of a soft, fruity wine. The flavors seem shallow, ephemeral, and unappealing. Don't think I would have identified this as a Chardonnay in a blind tasting. Very disappointing, especially since I like J Lohr's Cabernet. I would give this a pass. (1048 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 4/23/2019 & rated 90 points: Light lemon yellow color; lemon gelee, papaya nose; juicy, lemon, lemon gelee palate reminiscent of a village Chablis with good balancing acidity; medium-plus finish (14.5% alcohol; natural cork) 90+ points (1057 views)
Tasted by Bebum on 2/17/2019 & rated 90 points: Clear and sparkly light gold.
Very full body, silky texture, almost bubbly, lingering aftertaste.
Crisp, nice acidity, off dry,
Fruity, peach, grapes.
Delicious. (854 views)

The Chardonnay Grape

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
