The first bottle was wonderful the second oxidised. (2243 views)
Tasted by astroman on 1/4/2015: 2005 Burgundy Village or Premier Cru Blanc: herbal, good mouthfeel but slightly oxidized. (3181 views)
Tasted by cct on 12/6/2011 & rated 90 points: Golden color with a cool nose of lemon curd, some almond paste, seashells, it melds seamlessly to the rich yet balanced palate, with more mineral-chalk driven backbone with excellent texture, density of flavor, and nice cut, all of which comes together nicely with the fruit and cool herbal undertones. My last bottle of this, and while I have had quite a bit of bottle variation, this is probably the best bottle I have had and punches well above its weight class. This is at peak and while I doubt it will improve, it (at least this bottle) has a couple more years easy. Outstanding stuff tonight. 90 pts (5031 views)
Tasted by Booth on 7/14/2011 & rated 87 points: Golden yellow in the glass. I was worried this wine might have become flabby by now, but it still had strong acidity, nice minerality and citrus flavours. (5134 views)
Tasted by jeff nowak on 2/18/2010 & rated 90 points: great run, our last bottle. (5088 views)
Tasted by jeff nowak on 10/23/2009 & rated 91 points: no complaints with this bottle; above it's average. you might coax some extra performance out of this wine by holding, but it doesn't seem worth the trouble to me. a pleasant QPR white burg. (4130 views)
Tasted by jeff nowak on 9/27/2009 & rated 90 points: consistent notes. score is relative to my gut response. (3682 views)
Tasted by kris.h on 9/26/2009 & rated 87 points: 33rd Birthday: Light yellow. Buttery mouthfeel. Good acidity. Short finish but nice, soft, and round. Apple and citrus. Not a lot of complexity. (2811 views)
Tasted by jeff nowak on 7/15/2009 & rated 90 points: better balance of minerals and fruit in this bottle. back on track with expectations. (2537 views)
Tasted by jeff nowak on 7/8/2009 & rated 88 points: mineral dominant...too much so. i craved more fruit. nice enough, but i clearly favored the last bottle over this one. (2504 views)
Tasted by jeff nowak on 6/28/2009 & rated 90 points: a year since my last taste. the wine has maintained it's position in the aging curve, but i wouldn't make a special effort to hold it. not as sharp as my last note indicates, but still full for it's modest source. less overt citrus. i score it the same. (2562 views)
Tasted by winekitchen on 12/16/2008 & rated 86 points: A little flabby--not as crisp and minerally as we like. Nice enough, just didn't really grab us. (2787 views)
Tasted by sehill on 11/15/2008 & rated 90 points: This wine was opened and poured. It showed very well with good depth and complexity. The wine developed nicely with airing, picking up additional nuances on the bouquet and palate. The color is a youthful, vibrant light golden. The palate is medium bodied and has good balance between the fruit and acidity. The 2006 was tasted a few days before this and it also showed well. Both '05 and '06 Macon from Leflaive are drinking well now and are big improvement over the lackluster 2004. (2619 views)
Tasted by kris.h on 11/4/2008 & rated 89 points: Light yellow color. Reticent nose at first but with air it starts to open up. There's some citrus, apple, and popcorn. Medium weight on the palate with a lush, slightly buttery mouth feel. Lightish acidity. Good finish with hints of vanilla and honey. (2572 views)
Tasted by jeff nowak on 6/21/2008 & rated 90 points: 13.5% alcohol. with a pale yellow color, this is a straightforward, relatively simple wine that nevertheless is quite refreshing in it's minerality and crisp profile. it's thin in the midpalate, but then gains some tasty momentum with a finish that beefs up late. you could say that it starts out as a chablis, but then finishes with a little oak blast that kicks it into gear. love the lemony nose. (2748 views)
Tasted by whits on 6/6/2008 & rated 87 points: tart tropical fruit, lemon, tight mineral, crisp acidity, nice touch of clay on the finish (2734 views)
Tasted by rmodak on 1/22/2008 & rated 91 points: This was an initially tight wine that really opened up with time in the glass. Lemon fruit and minerals were part of the first wave. With time, pear and wet stone emerged along with a chalky note throughout. The mouthfeel became richer and more waxy, but firm acid gave this a searingly delicious steely finish. There seems no doubt that this will improve over the next few years. (2964 views)
Tasted by Eric on 1/5/2008 & rated 85 points: Simple, easy wine. Less mineral and flint than I want or expect. Nice enough notes of lemon cream. Simple. Clean. A bit fat. (3500 views)
Tasted by BradA on 11/3/2007 & rated 89 points: Pale straw in color, a crisp clean and fresh wine that was more chablis like. Some mineral and a really tasty wine with our soup of pureed carrot with celeraic. If I can find a few more, I would be a buyer at $30. (3071 views)
Tasted by Keith Levenberg on 10/23/2007 & rated 90 points: Lightweight fruit is almost Chablisienne in its purity, freshness, and precision. What it lacks is the mineral depth and textural complexities of Leflaive's Cote d'Or wines. (3320 views)
Tasted by kris.h on 10/20/2007 & rated 89 points: This is a very good wine. It's got a nice nose with some apple, butterscotch, caramel, and almond. Medium weight palate, good balance and a nice finish. (3103 views)
Tasted by tcfishler on 10/13/2007 & rated 90 points: 2005 Burgundy (Wine Exchange in Orange, CA): Nose of pear and lime dust. Umami-ish entry leads to an almost-peppery yet gentle intensity. (3945 views)

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio
