Community Tasting Notes (average 89.8 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 4 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by Steve Cub on 12/30/2022 & rated 87 points: Definitely needed some air to blossom. Upon opening the bottle, this was very sour cherry with not much tannin and tasted very closed. Halfway through the carafe, it brightened up significantly and there was some raspberry to complement the cherry along with more lasting, tasty tannins. Near the end of the carafe, it took on a more earthy tone, shifting back toward red cherries with lasting tannins for a med-long finish. Medium-high acid, but definitely not the most acidic Chianti I've had. I would call this a food-wine, but was an enjoyable sip on its own because of how much it changed through the bottle. I think there are more interesting Chiantis at this price point. (189 views)
Tasted by Chrly78 on 6/12/2022 & rated 91 points: Scent of mostly secodary notes like earthiness, leather and a hint of oak. Primary notes of cherries that became darker along the evening. Taste of sour cherries that became darker along the evening and the secondary notes in the scent is also very present in the taste. Taste of some oak that I really appreciated in a long finish. High acidity, medium- tannins. Medium body. (224 views)
Tasted by Chrly78 on 5/12/2021 & rated 87 points: Mycket tanniner och mycket syra. Passade väldigt bra till grillade hamburgare med tryffelmajo, som vinet kompletterade fint med sin syra. Tror att den kommer att må bra av några år i vinkällaren. (253 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
