Definitely needed some air to blossom. Upon opening the bottle, this was very sour cherry with not much tannin and tasted very closed. Halfway through the carafe, it brightened up significantly and there was some raspberry to complement the cherry along with more lasting, tasty tannins. Near the end of the carafe, it took on a more earthy tone, shifting back toward red cherries with lasting tannins for a med-long finish. Medium-high acid, but definitely not the most acidic Chianti I've had. I would call this a food-wine, but was an enjoyable sip on its own because of how much it changed through the bottle. I think there are more interesting Chiantis at this price point.

Scent of mostly secodary notes like earthiness, leather and a hint of oak. Primary notes of cherries that became darker along the evening. Taste of sour cherries that became darker along the evening and the secondary notes in the scent is also very present in the taste. Taste of some oak that I really appreciated in a long finish. High acidity, medium- tannins. Medium body.

Mycket tanniner och mycket syra. Passade väldigt bra till grillade hamburgare med tryffelmajo, som vinet kompletterade fint med sin syra. Tror att den kommer att må bra av några år i vinkällaren.
