Community Tasting Notes (average 91.8 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 13 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by pbaek on 12/23/2023: I promised myself I would let these sleep, but I failed. This is big, full bodied wine, 14.5% alc. Stone fruits, wax, spices. Low acidity. It’s the alcohol that cuts through the cheese in the cheese fondue, a great match actually. More to come. (444 views)
Tasted by culater on 8/11/2023 & rated 93 points: 30 min in decanter. 12C, riesling glas. With porcino bruschetta.

Bee wax, tropical fruit, stone fruit, honey, walnuts.
Wow! Ready now and a treat with complexity (569 views)
Tasted by CMN on 3/18/2023 & rated 88 points: Reduction on the nose. Slightly sweet white fruits and mandarin oranges. Medium+ body. High- acidity. Long finish. (819 views)
Tasted by cadamsen on 3/10/2023 & rated 92 points: Just a great wine (799 views)
Tasted by pbaek on 12/2/2022: Young, very rich and full bodied Pinot Gris. 14.5% alc. White and green fruits, some sweetness, full on, low on acidity. Hints of lime, spices and soil. Needs time in the cellar. Great with foie gras though. (1011 views)
Tasted by Ruminator on 11/21/2022: Very pale yellow color.
Slightly leesy and flinty. Scents of orange zest, ginger and almond skin. Fruits of peach, green-yellow pear, and melon. Tangerine in midpalate. Finishes with honey, orange blossom, orange pith. Slight sweetness (off-dry). Saline minerality and mouth-coating texture.

Medium plus body and medium plus acidity.

Definitely, more body and structure here. Richer sensation from midpalate to finish. (705 views)
Tasted by sjfunkenhauser on 11/6/2022 & rated 91 points: Light lemon colour.

Medium (+) intensity aromas of wet stone, beeswax, sea salt, crushed oyster shells, white blossom, yellow apple, pear, peach, lemon zest, citrus pith, a hint of nutmeg, marzipan and butter.

Medium (+) intensity on the palate.

Medium body (+), high acidity, long finish.

Subtle, but persistence is rewarded with an incredibly complex and elegant wine. This wine has so much potential and I wish I could rate it higher, but it's lacking a bit of intensity. (121 views)
Tasted by Genghis88 on 8/11/2022 & rated 90 points: A youngster for sure, but ample aeration helped. Better consumed true cellar temperature, so ice it down.
Pale apple juice in color.
Faint nose. Pineapple and mandarin oranges.
Round, lovely acidity. High residual sugar. Very noticeable. Will age nicely.
Medium finish. More stone fruit on the palate then what the nose presented. This is a really well built wine that will improve with age. That being said it's really nice now. Give it some air, and drink cool. You will not be disappointed. Maybe a tad expensive. 90 pts now with room to move. Cheers.

Grilled chicken dinner (866 views)
Tasted by rmalloy on 1/17/2022: This is a big wine with 14.5% alcohol and plenty of residual sugar to boot, while maintaining decent acidity. It is loaded with apricots and honey, but the finish is stony and fresh. I believe this wine needs several years to develop and unfold. (916 views)
Tasted by WineTally on 12/18/2021: 100% Pinot Gris (Grauburgunder)

Manual harvest. Gentle whole clusters pressing in pneumatic presses.
Fermentation with natural yeast in old oak barrels.
Aged 8-10 months.
14.5% Abv.

Pinot Gris

From Pinot Gris Wikipedia entry:
Wines made from the Pinot gris vary greatly and are dependent on the region and wine making style they are from. Alsatian Pinot gris are medium to full bodied wines with a rich, somewhat floral bouquet. They tend to be spicy in comparisons with other Pinot gris. While most Pinot gris are meant to be consumed early, Alsatian Pinot gris can age well. German Pinot gris are more full-bodied with a balance of acidity and slight sweetness. In Oregon the wines are medium bodied with a yellow to copper-pink color and aromas of pear, apple, and/or melon. In California, the Pinot gris are more light bodied with a crisp, refreshing taste with some pepper and arugula notes. The Pinot grigio style of Italy is a light-bodied, often lean wine that is light in color with sometimes spritzy flavors that can be crisp and acidic. Although this wine can be very sweet, it will begin to lose its acidity when it is nearly ripe.

Pinot gris is considered an "early to market wine" that can be bottled and out on the market within 4–12 weeks after fermentation.
