It tasted very "porty" to me. Not what I expected from a Rose. (1130 views) | | Tasted by MurphyCellar on 1/19/2009 & rated 90 points: Really nice, dry rose with more depth than most. (1160 views) | | Tasted by pinotsandy on 8/31/2008 & rated 85 points: Very tannic, had flavors of tea and bit of strawberry fruit (1476 views) | | Tasted by knuckledragger on 7/6/2007 & rated 85 points: This was a wine club purchase. I never would have purchased a Rose on my own. We tried this wine with some friends one night. Our friends LOVED this wine. We were non commital. It was a fun wine to have with our friends. This wine had a fruity taste and was a dry wine. (1294 views) | | Tasted by drewrowe on 6/25/2007 & rated 90 points: Took to a friends, drank on the deck before dinner. Lovely, lovely wine. It is fun to see people cringe when you bring out the Rose, sure they are about to be forced to drink some treacly eww and the surprise and delight when they find it is crisp, clean, tart and dry. Perfect summer wine. I'd like to get a case. (1528 views) |
| St. Supéry Producer web siteRosé Blend"Rosé blend" can mean a blend of just about any varietals since the designation comes from the resulting color of the wine.Rosé Rosé - WikipediaUSAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Napa Valley Napa Valley Wineries and Wine (Napa Valley Vintners)Napa ValleySt. Helena |
