These Patelin rouge offerings often need a few years to settle down. The Grenache dominates now, making this a one-note offering today. Drinks more like a young Beaujolais right now. Let ‘er settle until mid-2024. Then I’ll give the screw cap another pull. Drink 2024 to 2028. (440 views) | | Tasted by bwillia on 3/14/2023 & rated 86 points: A little thin but earthy with food friendly acidity. It’s a darn good domestic imitation of a Cotes du Rhône. (478 views) | | Tasted by Sid G on 10/4/2022 & rated 87 points: Tablas Creek features Rhone style wines, often rather pricey ones, so it was nice to see one that was reasonably priced. It is a modest wine with a lovely ruby color and a fruit forward flavor with sweet red cherries as the major component. It is lacking in depth or complexity. It has a light body but a slightly bitter finish. An okay wine for everyday use. (658 views) | | Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 6/24/2022: Yeah, this thing is totally smoked out. On the nose and on the palate. And kinda harsh and bitter on the back end as well. (1045 views) |

| Tablas Creek Producer website Tablas Creek Vineyard, founded by the Perrin family of Chateau de Beaucastel and Robert Haas of Vineyard Brands, is dedicated to growing grape varieties traditional to France's Rhone Valley. The partners chose hilly western Paso Robles for its limestone soils, rugged terrain, and ocean influence. All Tablas Creek wines are estate grown using environmentally sustainable practices.Red Rhone Blend Read about the different grapes used to produce red and white Rhone wines On CellarTracker, Red Rhone Blend is the term for a wine consisting of two or more of the traditional 13 Southern Rhone grape varieties. A 'food' wine. Lacking pretension and intended for local consumption with local cuisine. Lacks the 'high' notes on a Bordeaux, more earthy and sharper so often a better partner to meat dishes with a sauce. USAAmerican wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Central Coasthttp://www.ccwinegrowers.org/links.html
