Tasted by John Nezlek on 12/6/2016 & rated 90 points: Note: I use a scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.

See previous TN, which was just a month ago. (1091 views)
Tasted by John Nezlek on 10/30/2016 & rated 91 points: Note: I use a rating scale on which 85 represents a very good wine.

Excellent in all respects. Just enough richness, fruit, acidity. Wish I had 10 more. (1037 views)
Tasted by John Nezlek on 10/2/2015 & rated 89 points: Not quite the magical 90, but still quite good. This bottle was not at all flat or close to being oxidized. Crisp, delineated, textbook Chablis. (1382 views)
Tasted by S1 on 4/8/2012 & rated 75 points: Sunday in the Sunroom--all blind (Chez S1): Flat with heavy handed malo. Very little acidity/very little Chablis minerality and fruit. I think this one is starting the slide to severe oxidation. Half the bottle remaining at the end of the tasting--enough said. (3485 views)
Tasted by keepitreal on 3/22/2012 & rated 85 points: Not much acidity left and therefore a bit flat. (2805 views)
Tasted by keelegl on 8/23/2010 & rated 90 points: Pretty nose with lemon and some light toast. Clean and refreshing on the palate that finishes with a steely/mineral edge. Nice. (2665 views)
Tasted by french16 on 6/12/2010: Steely, lemony nose along smoky and light nutty notes. Soft, round, rich texture. Med to full body for Chablis, this is showing the warmth and richness of the whites for this vintage. The wood is a touch too noticeable right now even if this is pretty well made.
Will improve over 2-3 years. (2653 views)
Tasted by vanpe003 on 3/23/2010: No detailed notes. A good wine for what it is - approachable in its youth, forward fruit without a bunch of acidity/minerality. An easy drinker and quite pleasurable. (1886 views)
Tasted by joefel on 2/21/2010 & rated 90 points: Same notes as the first time I opened a bottle, but enjoyed it even more with bacon-wrapped scallops grilled on the bbq. (1758 views)
Tasted by joefel on 1/25/2010 & rated 90 points: First Chablis in a lot of years and I wonder why I stopped buying them. Beautiful color. A little closed upon opening, but 30 minutes later, it started to come to life. Lots of fruit - apples and pears, with a nice flowery nose and good acidity. (1805 views)
Tasted by joshwoodward on 12/12/2009 & rated 87 points: Churchill's: Burgundy vs Bordeaux (Maumee, OH): Closed nose, slightly corn-y. This is super shut down right now. Oddly light acidity, which makes me question how well this would age. Minerals, but little fruit. Pleasant but boring. $41 (2564 views)
Tasted by rmodak on 11/28/2009 & rated 90 points: Rich Chablis with some tropical notes of pineapple, lemons but retaining chalky minerality with firm acidity. (1880 views)
Tasted by jhannah27 on 11/17/2009 & rated 88 points: Nose showing soft orchard fruits, white flowers, and just a hint of lemon infused oil. The flavor follows the nose, but everything has been turned up a notch or two. Ripe, round apples and pears, lemon zest, and just a hint of spice in the background. Smooth oily texture with a nice zip of acidity throughout. This wine took about an hour or so to really start to shine, and it really showed well once it did. Excellent with the Cuban styled pork chops that we had with dinner. (2013 views)
Tasted by jpinsb on 11/14/2009 & rated 88 points: Less crisp and and more buttery than most Chablis, perhaps a touch more oak than usual for this region. (2182 views)
Tasted by cohen33 on 9/12/2009: Pretty good for price (1967 views)
Tasted by tbone on 8/2/2009: Very nice. Seaspray, oyster shells, honeysuckle.......yummm. Bottle disappeared quickly. (2041 views)
Tasted by bodulations on 2/14/2009 & rated 87 points: needs more time (2397 views)

Burgundy-Report (4/1/2008)
(Long-Depaquit Chablis Vaucoupin) Faint brioche fades to leave denser fruit. More intense at its core and coupled to fizzing acidity, lovely extension and finish. A little more mineral and super.

Burgundy

Les vins de Bourgogne (Bureau interprofessionnel des vins de Bourgogne) (and in English)

Burgundy - The province of eastern France, famous for its red wines produced from Pinot Noir and its whites produced from Chardonnay. (Small of amounts of Gamay and Aligoté are still grown, although these have to be labeled differently.) The most famous part of the region is known as the Cote d'Or (the Golden Slope). It is divided into the Cote de Beaune, south of the town of Beaune (famous principally for its whites), and the Cote de Nuits, North of Beaune (home of the most famous reds). In addition, the Cote Chalonnaise and the Maconnais are important wine growing regions, although historically a clear level (or more) below the Cote d'Or. Also included by some are the regions of Chablis and Auxerrois, farther north.

# 2013 Vintage Notes:
* "2013 is a vintage that 20 years ago would have been a disaster." - Will Lyons
* "low yields and highly variable reds, much better whites." - Bill Nanson
* "Virtually all wines were chaptalised, with a bit of sugar added before fermentation to increase the final alcohol level." - Jancis Robinson

# 2014 Vintage Notes:
"We have not had such splendid harvest weather for many years. This will ensure high quality (fragrant, classy and succulent are words already being used) across the board, up and down the hierarchy and well as consistently from south to north geographically apart from those vineyards ravaged by the hail at the end of June." - Clive Coates

# 2015 Vintage Notes:
"Low yields and warm weather allowed for ample ripeness, small berries and an early harvest. Quality is looking extremely fine, with some people whispering comparisons with the outstanding 2005 vintage. Acid levels in individual wines may be crucial." - Jancis Robinson

# 2017 Vintage Notes:
"Chablis suffered greatly from frost in 2017, resulting in very reduced volumes. As ever, the irony seems to be that what remains is very good quality, as it is in the Côte d’Or. Cooler nights across the region have resulted in higher-than-usual acidity, with good conditions throughout the harvest season allowing for ripe, healthy fruit." - Jancis Robinson

# 2018 Vintage Notes:
"The most successful region for red Burgundy in 2018 was the Côte de Beaune. The weather was ideal in this area, with just enough sunlight and rain to produce perfectly balanced wines naturally." - Vinfolio

Chablis

Chablis (Fédération de Défense de l'Appellation Chablis) | Chablis (Burgundy Wines)

2014 Vintage Notes:
"... a hybrid of 2004/2007 and 2010. The stone, citrus and limestone amalgam is exactly what we search for in Chablis as the style harkens to a day in the Cote de Beaune proper (1960's - 1980's) when wine was not meant to be consumed the week it was released, battonage was not used by all and new oak was rarely seen ... the texture is natural and 'of the vintage' not 'of the winemaker' .... Like Sancerre or the Loire in general, 2014 in Chablis is one of those rare years with extract and transparency. It appears to be a vintage for the "neoclassic" ages and those of us intent on cellaring the most terroir-driven (but still powerful) examples of vineyard, site-place and varietal will want to invest (heavily) in the magnetic and electric 2014's." - Jon Rimmerman

2018 Vintage Notes:
"There’s not that razor sharp Chablis acidity in 2018,” says Patrick Piuze. “But there is good definition of place. The dry conditions drove vines to drink deeper down in the soil profile."
