| Community Tasting Notes (average 92.3 pts. and median of 92 pts. in 10 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by Francophile1 on 2/10/2024 & rated 91 points: Similar to my prior tasting note. Paired great with seared scallops with beurre blanc toasted pine nuts on a bed of yukon mashers. More creamy than crisp. Wish it had a touch more acidity. Drink in the next three years. (676 views) | | Tasted by alanmspieg on 11/15/2023 & rated 95 points: This is a terrific Chardonnay. Ready to drink now (2023) but it will age nicely for the next 3-5 years. (722 views) | | Tasted by Rond on 10/28/2023 & rated 94 points: A rich, oaky, buttery style. Notes of lemon curd, and with enough juiciness to cut some of the richness. (611 views) | | Tasted by GuanYu on 8/3/2023 & rated 90 points: Pale yellow. Citrus, stone fruits, peach, white flowers, cream and minerality. Quite complex and layered. Malolactic had dulled the acidity which made the wine soft. (966 views) | | Tasted by Francophile1 on 4/22/2023 & rated 91 points: This is a richer new world style of Chardonnay and is very different stylistically from their Estate Chard. Full of tropical fruit, round and full mouthfeel. At its best when served > 45 degrees so let it sit on the counter for a while after removing it from the fridge. (1350 views) | | Tasted by Deux Chevaux on 3/2/2023: Golden straw. This is quite rich and substantial — and yet it’s balanced, with decent acidity, and not excessive/ overdone. Very enjoyable over three nights. (1121 views) | | Tasted by jonahfactor on 12/24/2022: Still young and tight. But we couldn’t keep our hands off it. Went perfectly with our smoked mozzarella, prosciutto and basil pasta, especially once it opened in the glass. Elegant tangerines, peaches, lemon zest and brioche on the palate with a toasty citrus finish. The published reviews on this (high 80s/low 90s) don’t do this justice. It’s beautiful. Drink 2023 to 2028. Outstanding. (1092 views) |

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountyRussian River Valley Russian River Valley Winegrowers Association | Wikipedia |
