Community Tasting Notes (average 90.1 pts. and median of 88 pts. in 10 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by whits on 5/16/2021: consumed the old highball style with plain soda water; wood smoke, forest floor and iodine scents, features smoked flavors of orange peel, lava rocks, citrus and tobacco, the finish sets on the tongue and absorbs itself into your tongue tissues, then it seeps into your inner soul while continuing to warm your upper gastrointestinal tract, and I like it (436 views)
Tasted by JerM on 4/26/2019: The Great 2019 Easter Marathon!; 4/17/2019-4/26/2019 (Sydney): Peat smoke, saline, iodine, savoury funk. Sweet, young, blue smoke, hint dry citrus peel. (884 views)
Tasted by vinhonotte on 10/21/2018 & rated 90 points: Straits Wines - Wine Fiesta 2018; 10/20/2018-10/21/2018 (The Clifford Pier, Fullerton Bay Hotel): pale coloured, but powerful, smoky, burnt, with charcoal, chalk, herbal; like a barbeque (921 views)
Tasted by henrygjeffreys on 1/6/2017: very pale colour
nose TCP and smoky notes - strong but not overpowering
Very very spice. Feels like biting into a chilli plus Szechuan pepper. Some sweet notes stop it being overpowering, marmalade. Then a long smoky finish. Very very smoky but not a caricature. (861 views)
Tasted by neilemc on 10/1/2013 & rated 88 points: Kinda halfway between an Islay and a highland scotch: peaty but also spicy. Tastes hotter than 40% so having on the rocks. Nice balance but a bit overpriced. (1003 views)
Tasted by bestdamncab on 3/24/2011 & rated 88 points: Traverso Compass Box Tasting of 6 expressions. Lovely and rich peat nose, with water less peat but still peat dominates, more of the same on the palate. $132. My #3 tonight. (744 views)
