Tasted by AlexB70 on 2/11/2023 & rated 91 points: Was actually excellent! But it was a 5L bottle! (508 views)

J'aimerais bien y gouter à nouveau.... Achat à prévoir ?

Nous l'avons dégusté avec les amis qui nous l'avait offert en 2011. Luc et Lucie (502 views)
Tasted by asgerG on 2/8/2022 & rated 89 points: DnP. Dark red, yellow/red edged, 5.5 Racy spicy bouquet, mature fruit and sweetness. Harmonious palate, m+T, hA, mB, good fruit, cherries, elegant finish. Drink now-onwards (1021 views)
Tasted by tadams66 on 12/26/2021 & rated 88 points: Still nice but It was either slightly off, I waited too long, or wrong pairing but this did not sing like my last bottle. I would drink up. (1052 views)
Tasted by olracx62 on 11/20/2020 & rated 93 points: wow this is big!! Smoke at the nose, with some hint of oak. At the palate spices and faded red fruit. Wonderful wine, perfectly aged, in its best drinking window. A perfect example of an entry price wine from a good vintage which can reach the top if well cellared . Paired at best with a T-bone steak from Piemonte. Unparalled QPR!!! (1612 views)
Tasted by geexploitation on 8/28/2020: Really nice spot on the aging curve. Softening tannins, but not quite done. Evocative fruit and herb. Loads of structure. (1641 views)
Tasted by tadams66 on 8/9/2020 & rated 92 points: This is in a great place. Nice dried cherries, leather and tabaco. This has a nice structure and finish. Was really nice the second day. This will last for many years but is in a great place. Could go with a steak but think a nice pork chop or pasta would be perfect. (1479 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 4/24/2020: Has the dusty red cherry fruit to it. Developed. (1871 views)
Tasted by Lemmy-W on 3/19/2020 & rated 92 points: lovely chianti that for some reason I seem to over-rate compared to other users. Not overly complex, but such a pleasure to drink. (1569 views)
Tasted by CWilliam on 9/29/2019 & rated 92 points: PNP.

Dark brick red color. Great nose - menthol, sweet tobacco, sweet cherry and balsamic. Medium body, medium+ acidity, medium tannins and long finish. Flavor profile on palate similar to nose. Very enjoyable - this has aged great. One of my favorite sub $25 Chianti Riservas. - 92+/- (1740 views)
Tasted by olracx62 on 1/14/2019 & rated 90 points: in its best drinking window. still youthful at the color, wonderful at the nose which expresses notes of ripe red fruit and some elegant oak. At the palate consistent hints of plums and blackberries married with a touch of underwood and wood with still evident tannins. The ensamble is a very nice chianti which drinks beautifully and at this stage is a top pick. My understanding is that it will be in its prime time for another couple of years. 89/90 (2756 views)
Tasted by Lemmy-W on 1/1/2019 & rated 92 points: very nice Chianti, drinking beautifully now (2026 views)
Tasted by Winelover48 on 12/2/2018 & rated 87 points: The wine is a bit too modern for my palate and was a bit too one dimensional. It lacked complexitya and nuance. Certainly not a bad wine it’s perfectly acceptable wine. (1825 views)
Tasted by Purple Tooth on 11/19/2018 & rated 91 points: Held its own and outclassed a few italian wines 3 to 4X its price. This is a well balanced fruit filled Chianti with sweet cherry, earth, and vibrance from the acid and tannin package. It throws hits and whiffs of barnyard as it grows in the glass over 3 hours. Just can get any better for the price. Drink (2218 views)
Tasted by Z1nnfull on 11/9/2018 & rated 89 points: 89- top end of Very Good on your rating scale.
It was very good, but based on wine mags, thought it might be better. It was a thinner, lighter body style (medium-bodied) than I expected.
Served it with homemade red sauce with herbs and spice and it struggled to stay on par with the food. Second night had it alone and it had a lot of depth and character, earthy, loamy, woody, restrained black cherry fruit (restrained fruit is not our style of Sangiovese, but no points deducted).
Still looking for a very good, bold Chianti in the $20-25 range, this fell short. Part of the issue with this wine may be that it is starting to feel its age- we let it breathe all afternoon...may have just missed its peak over a year ago. Drink Now. (1549 views)
Tasted by ajbergren on 10/4/2018 & rated 89 points: Ruby red with medium high optical density and low reflectivity, and a faint browning rim. Medium minus intensity aromas on opening, with warm berries and dusty sage underbrush. Cherries, roses, and a bit of tar wafts through on the back end, very subtle, but seeming to want to jump out, along with some vegetable garden soil. Fresh medium plus acidity, medium plus body, and very dry on the palate. Texture is medium grained with strong tannins that frame out the wine. Dark cherries and bright raspberries on the attack, with a warm berry mixutre coming at midpalate. The final transition shows some spices, oak, and leather, with a finish of freshly tanned leather that lingers for good length. Complexity is medium, with some power and strength that serve as the focus. With some air, a bit more freshness comes in, and things improve. Provides even more depth with time, with a melding of flavours, so not much gain in complexity, but things sort of come together here.

This is a modern-styled wine to be sure, and one that provides a good experience, if a bit general. So, a really good wine, but does not knock my socks off at this point. Decent value, but much better wine exists at this price point. At the same time, this has a lot more aging potential, and could actually be great at some point. Would decant or hold. (1402 views)
Tasted by Ben Christiansen on 7/6/2018: From half bottle. Lots of roasty toasty black fruit on that one. Like tobacco. A little stewed prune. Maybe a little heat damage from this bottle. (1827 views)
Tasted by Teaky on 5/16/2018: Big bold red fruited nose, dry and tannic, get some raspberry notes, balsamic, moderate acid. Very nice. (1752 views)
Tasted by Purple Tooth on 2/22/2018 & rated 91 points: Twice in a month and twice so good....Its definitely big for a Chianti and that makes it lovely to me. Kinda Bordeauesque...Like a 2009 Cru Borgois...Very nice. DRINK over 3 years...

*Just bought a case for weeknight drinking while cooking. Its one of those wines. Lovely (2328 views)
Tasted by Purple Tooth on 2/4/2018 & rated 91 points: Oh, yes, now I remember why I bought this wine about 2 or 3 years ago and stashed 4 bottles in the cellar. It has all the things I like in a red wine. High acidity as you would hope, with great balance between the perfect amount of red fruit, the wood, with no trace of alcohol. Today it's rounder, still firm, and throws tobacco and smoke scents and delivers the same with each and every sip. Got better and better right to the end. Sensations QPR! Drink or hold (2259 views)
Tasted by RSedge on 10/24/2017 & rated 90 points: decanted - excellent will buy again
The wine looks crimson colored. The legs are fast. There is no sediment in the bottle. It smells like blackberry and red currant. The body is medium. The wine finishes medium. The wine has low acidity. (1984 views)
Tasted by rickspicks on 9/28/2017: This bottle lacked the typical chianti acidity.and as a result was just a bit fat and slightly overripe. Not bad or flawed, just not as good to my palate as the other bottles. Tasted blind, I might have thought it was a merlot. Will not score. (2039 views)
Tasted by Vinnut on 9/17/2017 & rated 90 points: Deep dark ruby in color. Full, fragrant & aromatic nose of ripe fruit aromas of cherries, strawberries & currants with spice overtones, some floral notes of roses, dusty/earthy, mushrooms, dried herbs, some minerals, a touch of vanilla & toasted oak in the background. Medium-full bodied with a good concentration of well balanced & smooth textured, ripe fruit flavors of dark cherries, blackberries & dark currants with spices, herbs, minerals, a touch of vanilla & toasted oak. Lingering finish. Drinks quite well with decanting and airing at present and has some potential for further development with a few more years of additional aging. (1934 views)
Tasted by Tpairing on 9/10/2017 & rated 91 points: Ripe fruit -currant and cherry. Tuscany flavours in drinking well. Antipasto and herby, peppery pizza tonight was a great choice. (1774 views)
Tasted by Chip Merlot on 9/8/2017 & rated 91 points: Had a low-acid Cal cab last night so was looking for an old-world, higher-acid wine tonight and this wonderfully fit the bill. Juicy, flavorful, not really complex but there was enough going on to keep me sticking my nose into the glass. Very enjoyable with pizza. (1917 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
