Tasted by SpitzNV on 12/31/2020 & rated 92 points: I had this wine the first time at Quince in San Francisco and was so impressed that I bought a bottle online while seated at the restaurant table. It happened to be the last bottle left for sale in the US! Two and a half years later, we're drinking this on New Years Eve and it seems a bit past its prime yet still delicious. Nose is barnyard, sandalwood, leather. Acidity and tannins are great but I'm wanting a bit more body. Licorice, garrigue, black currant leaf. Drink immediately if you have any left because it's most definitely on the decline. (804 views)
 Tasted by rhapsody5435 on 12/22/2019 & rated 94 points: (963 views)
Tasted by Neecies on 7/18/2018 & rated 95 points: Bill's wine. Deep medium red with a pale edge and no browning. Easily identifiable as aged Italian nebbiolo with complex, tarry fruit, soft tannins and length. Outstanding! I would be perfectly happy if every nebb I drank for the rest of my life was exactly like this. (1360 views)
Tasted by David J Cooper on 7/14/2018 & rated 92 points: Medium light red with pink edges. Definitely and aged Nebbiolo nose, damp earth, tobacco, tar and some nice black cherry fruit. Delicious earthy cherry and tobacco flavours and a medium length dry finish. Still may improve but this is in the third stage of development.

I think these wines need to be enjoyed in a more academic setting, hushed room, with a leisurely paced meal. (1349 views)
Tasted by tfurnary on 1/1/2015 & rated 94 points: Beautiful wine at this stage. minimal sediment. Decanted -- best after one hour. Nose of Cherries, eucalyptus, vannilla. On the palate Cherries and minerals abound; firm structure mild tannin very approachable now. Would try agian in 2017. Best in Gran cru burgundy glass. (2128 views)
Tasted by Jossik on 10/17/2010 & rated 83 points: Pił indietro ma anche meno performante dell'altra bevuta, bocca con tannino fin troppo ruvido, naso poco complesso (2305 views)
Tasted by Jossik on 9/16/2009 & rated 85 points: Buono, un po' secco, ma naso profondo e bocca piacevole (2207 views)

Nebbiolo

Nebbiolo is a red grape indigenous to the Piedmont region of Italy in the Northwest. The grape can also be found in other parts of the world, though they are not as respected.

Nebbiolo is often considered the "king of red wines," as it is the grape of the famed wines of Barolo DOCG, Barbaresco DOCG, and Roero DOCG. It is known for high tannins and acidity, but with a distinct finesse. When grown on clay, Nebbiolo can be very powerful, tannic, and require long aging periods to reach its full potential. When grown on sand, the grape exhibits a more approachable body with more elegant fruit and less tannins, but still has high aging potential.

"Nebbiolo" is named for the Italian word, "nebbia", which means "fog", in Italian and rightfully so since there is generally a lot of fog in the foothills of Piedmont during harvest.

Nebbiolo is a late-ripening variety that does best in a continental climate that boasts moderate summers and long autumns. In Piedmont, Nebbiolo is normally harvested in October.
