 Tasted by bbq_grandcru on 12/3/2023 & rated 93 points: Medium to light body. Beautiful balance. Secondary flavors. Nice stone dust on the finish. (367 views)
 Tasted by Raizes on 4/4/2023 & rated 91 points: (848 views)
 Tasted by shafer1994 on 3/19/2023 & rated 93 points: In a great place right now. Deep red color, complex nose. Fresh impression on the palate,rip, oily texture. Dark berries, vanilla, smoke, all well balanced. Relatively long and silky finish with polished tannins. Will keep some more years but most likely not getting any better. (768 views)
 Tasted by CarpeDiem! on 11/6/2021 & rated 93 points: A great Bolgheri in its peak drinking window. Intense nose of black fruit cedar, menthol, chocolate. In the mouth powerful and complex structure, with leather, cedar, tobacco, menthol, cocoa, caramel. Long finish. Have it now or over the next years, but don't wait too long! (1925 views)
 Tasted by EricLi on 6/29/2021 & rated 92 points: Great wine (2296 views)
 Tasted by Massimo Della Corte on 2/9/2021 & rated 92 points: Peak erreicht! Wunderbar. Jetzt trinken (2453 views)
 Tasted by fabio.foppoli on 12/23/2020 & rated 89 points: Open 3 hours before tasting.
Dense colour with some garnet shades. Sweet complex aromas of eucalyptus, red fruit marmalade, milk chocolate, tobacco, pepper, graphite, dry figs and date fruit. Creamy sweet sensation entering the palate but then a bit dry finish. I believe the perfect peak of this wine is passed 3-5 years ago, but it is still a nice wine indeed. In my opinion it lacks of persistency and acidity to go further, but actually 2005 is not as great as other fresh vintage (2008). (2092 views)
 Tasted by ragtop on 5/8/2020 & rated 94 points: Dark color with minimal brown at the edges. Fantastic old world nose (98pt nose). Oak and leather with a musty smell. Some fruity on the palate that is not overripe. No raisin or prune. Very nice. Will keep 5 more years easily, but will not likely improve. Would drink soon. (2496 views)
 Tasted by Alvarovazquez on 2/2/2020 & rated 94 points: I will subscribe everything Carpediem wrote, this is in its peak! (2142 views)
 Tasted by CarpeDiem! on 11/16/2019 & rated 94 points: A great Bolgheri in its peak drinking window. Intense nose of black fruit cedar, menthol, chocolate. In the mouth powerful and complex structure, with leather, cedar, tobacco, menthol, cocoa, caramel. Long finish. Have it now or over the next years, but don't wait too long! (2050 views)
 Tasted by Yagil on 6/20/2019 & rated 93 points: Tuscan wines tasting: CS, Merlot & Syrah
med ruby
pronounced aromas intensity of dry red cherries, raspberries, dark red plums, oak-vanilla, leather, dark chocolate, eucalyptus, pepper;
developing
dry, high acidity, high tannins, high abv (14%), full body, pronounced flavours intensity consistent with the aromas; long finish;
elegant and balanced, excellent complexity;
can drink now - suitable for further aging. (2358 views)
 Tasted by wineshaman on 6/7/2019: Brought from cellar and decanted until room temperature about 1hr. Ten years of personal bottle age, very dark, quite rich, austere, underwhelming, boring and innocuous. We drank the bottle but was left disappointed, I assume this was an off bottle so will not rate. (1949 views)
 Tasted by CarpeDiem! on 2/18/2018 & rated 95 points: Absolutely superb and at its optimum. Overwhelming nose of black fruit cedar, menthol, chocolate. In the mouth powerful and complex structure, with leather, cedar, tobacco, menthol, cocoa, caramel. Long finish. Have it now or over the next years, but don't wait too long! (3062 views)
 Tasted by Diane (LI) on 7/23/2016: Started out hugely tannic, but with air the tannins softened and the fruit became more vibrant. It remained a big and sturdy wine and suited the food at Stresa, and I especially enjoyed it with my starter of figs with Proscuitto . (4169 views)
 Tasted by Libiamo! on 2/26/2016 & rated 89 points: Brickish rim. On the nose, savoury, undergrowth. On the palate, medium plus acidity and tannins. Medium plus body. Good length. Drinking well now. (4527 views)
 Tasted by zipcyn on 2/24/2016 & rated 86 points: Lots of fruits.
Med-full body
Very easy drinking (4051 views)
 Tasted by pifcho on 1/22/2016 & rated 93 points: Smooth, silky, decadent, well balanced. My first time with this, but call me impressed. The bottle was decanted for about 45 minutes and was drinking well off the bat. Lots of thick velvety black fruit, but never over the top. Modern, but still more old world then new. I was impressed.  Tasted by willthethrill on 9/13/2015 & rated 90 points: Thick with tannins. Wouldn't want to drink this much later... (3564 views)
 Tasted by MaximusT on 3/7/2014 & rated 92 points: Black licorice takes front and center stage in this show. It's sort of like a remake of an old school traditional Italian wine, however hints of new world change the story quite a bit. It is dominated by the Cabernet as Super Tuscans are, and the Syrah adds a twist in the plot. Act 1 was the decanting and first pour. Act 2 was the pairing with the spicy cioppino, and there was harmony. Act 3 is quite climatic as time has passed and black cherry has entered the scene. Along with fresh herbs, ground pepper and fennel seed there is sure to be a strong finale to this wine. Perhaps the few sips left will linger, and stay well after the show has finished. Standing ovation. (4468 views)
 Tasted by julius111 on 12/25/2013 & rated 93 points: Expressive and full bodied with plum and spices. Long and fullfilling (3921 views)
 Tasted by AngryPrez on 12/7/2013 & rated 93 points: wow factor right out of the glass with a knockout nose on this - wife had a migraine and she still wanted some - complex blend of flavors, dense and full - as it developed with air the small portion of Syrah began to assert itself more, with some meatier taste and nose. All in all, a great bottle and glad I have a few more to go. (4062 views)
 Tasted by PSPatrick on 9/29/2013 & rated 91 points: We poured the wine into a decanter, served the first glass after about 30 minutes and consumed the bottle over a period of another two hours. The wine offered an expressive nose of pencil shaving, black currant, cherry, blueberry, blackberry, plum, bell pepper, vegetal notes, cedar wood, spices, liquorice, chocolate and cocoa. On the palate the wine showed graphite, black currant, cherry, blueberry, blackberry, plum, some bell pepper, vegetal notes, spices, black pepper, some liquorice, cocoa and dark chocolate, paired with medium-plus acidity, medium-plus fine, well-integrated tannin and very good length. The wine was a little alcoholic and slightly bitter, without reaching the level of being unpleasant. A medium- to full-bodied, very complex Supertuscan, but not on par with the terrific Guado al Tassos of 2004 and 2007. (4159 views)
 Tasted by PSPatrick on 7/26/2013 & rated 91 points: I decanted the wine for two hours, poured it back into the bottle and consumed it over three days. It offered black currant, cherry, bell pepper, liquorice, truffles, chocolate, ground coffee, some pencil shaving and a hint of mint on the nose. On the palate the medium- to full-bodied wine showed cherry, black currant, plum, some bell pepper, chocolate, spices and graphite, paired with medium to medium-plus acidity, medium-plus round tannin, a good mouthfeel and very good length. The wine had very good depth, but still seemed a little restrained. Despite of making up only 50% of the blend (less than in most vintages) the Cabernet was very more dominant in the wine’s profile (more dominant than in other vintages). The wine even came across a little California Cabernet-like. Still, I liked the wine quite a bit. Drink or hold. (4292 views)
 Tasted by jrglm on 6/1/2013 & rated 92 points: Great nose, blah, blah, blah. Wonderful on the palate, yadda, yadda. Great finish, etc.
Get this wine, drink it. Thank me later. (2607 views)
 Tasted by kingkanu on 3/25/2013 & rated 91 points: Fine wine tasting with Xavier Rousset (28-50 Fetter Lane, London): There's a good whack of quality cab sav on the nose here, ripe blackcurrants, black olive, a touch of graphite. Plenty of tannin still but very fine and smooth, this tastes and feels like a quality wine, still needs 5 years or more for my tastes. (2936 views)
