Tasted by ThijsV on 10/11/2020 & rated 91 points: Very nice zinfandel, dried black fruit, dried figs, plums, blackberry, ceder, vanilla.

Apparently at the end of its window, but still very nice (1295 views)
Tasted by PlanetX on 8/6/2019 & rated 90 points: Mellowed nicely over the years. Might have a couple more years in it still. (1744 views)
Tasted by MikeDV on 12/25/2017: Still good in 12/17, but a bit past prime. (2630 views)
Tasted by Rkille on 3/10/2017: Still very nice past the drink date (3489 views)
Tasted by walla_wallou on 2/5/2017 & rated 91 points: Nice nose, spicy, black cherries, not too sweet, great length. (3492 views)
Tasted by Delli on 10/8/2016 & rated 92 points: Consistent with the first note - five years ago! Tannins are softer and the wine is more integrated. Community puts the end of drinking window next year but I suspect its got five more years. 5+12+17+8=92 (3009 views)
Tasted by Chapel on 5/15/2015 & rated 91 points: medium berry bodied, smooth and silky. was put at room temp for a day prior to opening (4147 views)
Tasted by aquacongas on 8/11/2014 & rated 90 points: the 2nd best Zin I had after Ridge, vigorous, despite 15.5% alcohol it hasn't a burning taste, marmelade notes, to speak from elegance would be a joke but the tanninstructure shows potential for at 5 years (4164 views)
Tasted by RJ&JJ on 4/30/2013 & rated 92 points: Fabulous bottle of Zin and totally unexpected from a source so well known for its Cabernet. Wish we had more.... a lot more. (5092 views)
Tasted by DataSquid on 10/26/2012: Haven't had many Zinfandels, not fair to rate, but really enjoyed this. It's what I was hoping for: A rich, fruity wine that had a nice structure; quaffable and a medium finish. Would buy again for sure. Kudos to The Keg for getting this on their list. (6002 views)
Tasted by gossba on 7/21/2012 & rated 93 points: smooth zin upfront, mild pepper on back (5988 views)
Tasted by Patches on 6/23/2012: This is a big wine, but not at all jammy. It seems quite classic in character. Really outstanding example of how good Zinfandel can be. (5031 views)
Tasted by lfbaum on 2/12/2012 & rated 92 points: Cranks two bottles. Decanted one for 3 hours. Very smooth and silky. The one that wasn't decanted had stronger cherry on the pallet. Similar finish. (4815 views)
Tasted by Thobman on 2/11/2012 & rated 88 points: Very nice with venison stew. Ready now! (3443 views)
Tasted by Frank&Steph on 1/16/2012 & rated 90 points: très bien, fruits confiturés à souhait avec une bonne bavette de boeuf ca fait le travail amplement! (3178 views)

USA

American wine has been produced since the 1500s, with the first widespread production beginning in New Mexico in 1628. Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.

2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson
