Tasted by timothynbond on 12/31/2022 & rated 91 points: Pale gold color. Rich honeyed mangoes and butterscotch on the nose. Medium-light body, medium acid. Rich apples, white chocolate, meyer lemons and good acidity through the finish. Fine bubbles. Very good depth. Questionable value at current secondary market prices, but very enjoyable nonetheless.  Tasted by tuxy85 on 12/31/2018 & rated 95 points: Beautiful champagne
Gold coloured with yeast and butter on the nose. Faint remnants of lime and red apple with a lovely nutty/buttery finish. One of my favourite champagnes to date (still a rookie in my descriptions).

All I can say is drink it now. (4824 views)

Tasted by Serge Birbrair on 4/1/2012: Wine won no major awards that evening but was mine Wine of the Night. Classical Champagne with lots of pedigree. Toasted bread on the nose, white flowers and prolonged finish. Excellent! (3268 views)

Tasted by VinumDiligo on 12/9/2010 & rated 94 points: Drank with dessert...nice yeasty, bread-like flavor. Very nice, well balanced flavors. (1829 views)
Tasted by Paul S on 11/13/2010 & rated 91 points: Served at A and S' wedding reception. I thought this was a pretty good Champagne, but it does need quite a bit more time in the bottle. I tasted this from two different bottles. The first was a bit prematurely aged, with an oxidative nose, brown apples, a little toffee, yeast and just that touch of white meat. The second was rather fresher, with green apples and toast rather than the brown apple accents. Palate was rich, with nice depth and breadth and an attractive flavour specturm - nutty, biscuity, with more red apples, some cherry piths, and lots of zippy acidity, still a little tartish at points I thought, but I think time will sort that out. Finish had lots of snappy bite, with a whole lot of lime zest and a very dry, minerally end. A pretty good Champagne all in all, but this needs time to integrate and tone down. Right now, it is just a little punishing when drank sans food. I must say that it went gorgeously with strawberries and cream though! (3109 views)
Tasted by rjonwine@gmail.com on 10/23/2010 & rated 91 points: 2010 K&L Champagne Event (K&L, Hollywood, California): Light yellow color; yeasty, apple, nose; tart apple, very yeasty, mineral palate; medium-plus finish 91+ pts. (3738 views)
Tasted by subtlet on 10/23/2010 & rated 94 points: Tete de Cuvee Champagne Tasting - Oct 23rd ,2010 (Red Slate, Portland, Oregon): I think some people will give me a hard time for this one, but I also think I need to own up to the fact that I've got a sweet tooth when tasting. The nose is captivating with depth and complexity. I get scents of morel mushrooms, apples, fresh dinner rolls, and a faint touch of frosting all working together to provide an enticing and thought provoking introduction. The bubbles build slowly on the palate, starting out soft and then becoming more full and crisp. The acidity builds slowly as well to sparkle and dry the palate along with the bubbles on the mid palate. Lovely tart and rich apple flavors show up on the mid palate and last into a long finish. The acidity clings to the back of the mouth making it water. The lingering apple flavors are intertwined with hints of caramel. Awesome!! (3884 views)
Tasted by EMichels on 7/20/2010 & rated 93 points: Eleven Madison Park: Great body; Big nose; Great depth (4056 views)
Tasted by isdblm@lsu.edu on 5/29/2010 & rated 90 points: We jumped out ahead of this one--steely, dry, crisp w green apples. Satisfying. Will wait a while on the next one. (3359 views)
Tasted by wirelesswine on 4/24/2010 & rated 88 points: From half-bottle. Not a lot of bubbles, and tasting somewhat flabby - lots of green apple flavors but with some sweetness and sourness battling it out. OK overall but not for the QPR ratio. (3304 views)
Tasted by robertek on 10/2/2008 & rated 84 points: This one was tasted as part of a vertical done at Perrier Jouet of their Belle Epoque 00, 99, 98, 96, 95, 88, 85 and 82 (see separate notes for the other wines). Very young with lots of green apple with high acidity that will ensure a long life and a lot higher rating when it matures. Don't drink it yet! (3550 views)

Perrier-Jouët

Producer website
Perrier-Jouët was founded in 1811 in Epernay by Pierre-Nicolas-Marie Perrier and his wife, Adele Jouët. One of the most prestigious houses in Champagne, the firm was shipping wine to Great Britain by 1813 and to the United States by 1837. Perrier-Jouët owns 266 acres of vineyards in Champagne, with an average rating of 95%, and is known worldwide for its consistency of style. By the end of the 19th Century, its Brut cuvées earned the reputation of nobility and prestige that continues today. Perrier Jouët's glamorous "Cuvée Belle Epoque", known in the United States as Fleur de Champagne, was launched in 1969 and has become the most important cuvée de prestige to appear after World War II. The bottle is adorned with enamel-painted anenomes originally created by Emile Gallé in 1900, but the wine is as famous for its taste as it is for its beautiful packaging.

Champagne Blend

"Champagne blend" is a classic grape blend that typically includes Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and/or Pinot Meunier in any proportions.

However, this blend can also include Arbane, Fromenteau (Pinot Gris), Petit Meslier and/or Pinot Blanc as well.

France - When it comes to wine, France stands alone. No other country can beat it in terms of consistent quality and diversity. And while many of its Region, Bordeaux, Burgundy and Champagne most obviously, produce wine as rare, as sought-after and nearly as expensive as gold, there are just as many obscurities and values to be had from little known appellations throughout the country. To learn everything there is to know about French wine would take a lifetime. To understand and appreciate French wine, one only has to begin tasting them. Sub-Region:

Champagne - The French region of Champagne (including the cities of Rheims, Épernay, and Aÿ) was the first region in the world to make sparkling wine in any quantity. Today, the name of the region is synonymous with the finest of all sparkling wines, and wine-making traditions of Champagne have become role models for sparkling wine producers, worldwide. Surprisingly, the region of Champagne is now responsible for only one bottle in 12 of all sparkling wine produced. Styles of champagne range in sweetness ranging from an extra brut or brut 0, to the basic brut to demi sec to doux; some houses produce single vintage champagnes and others produce non-vintage (or incorporate wines/grapes of multiple vintages), often to preserve a specific taste; combinations of grape varietals; and colors, including a rosé. There are several sub-appellations, including the Valley of the Marnes river running from Épernay west, Massif de Saint-Thierry north and west of Rheims, Valley of the Ardre, the Mountains of Rheims (between Rheims and Épernay), Côte des Blancs, Côte de Sézanne, and Côte des Bar in the South. Champagne wine only uses three grape varietals (cépages): Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, and Pinot Meunier.
