Tasted by the shrub on 7/5/2020 & rated 91 points: Drink with JB. Great despite 14.5% alcohol. Smooth strong fruit. Mellow. Very good (324 views)
Tasted by kirri caves on 3/28/2019 & rated 88 points: 6 of us shared a couple of bottles from my cellar over a Persian meal,
and we thought, unanimously, the wine was very good to excellent. It has retained its body and the colour was still a vibrant dark purplish. It has mellowed into a very evenly balanced albeit complex wine. The bottles had no sediment whatsoever which was a pleasant surprise.
I found the eucalyptus- herbaceous tones pleasing and comforting. It handled the reasonably spicy meal very well indeed. I believe my bottles are at peak and will therefore be offering them to my guests over the coming weeks. (481 views)
Tasted by JulianSkeels on 7/5/2016 & rated 86 points: Hard to really like this. Fully mature (needed 30mins in a decanter), slightly spirity nose with cassis. Very fine ripe tanins, blackcurrant but also blackcurrant leaf and pretty dilute mid-palate, which is a tad drying, lacks concentration and depth and followed by a watery (satisfying) finish with a mint twist. Functional but over-ripe, high-yielding wine without any soul. (1259 views)
Tasted by JayP on 10/26/2015 & rated 90 points: Rich, berry fruit - almost more Shiraz than Cab Sauv; tastes from a warm vintage. Really embraces food. Nice! (1031 views)
Tasted by JayP on 2/8/2015 & rated 89 points: Fruit and soft tannins. Plenty of life yet, probably get more complex. Nice wine though. Drunk with Filet Steak and Red Wine Sauce (1134 views)
Tasted by alexc on 12/2/2014: ok..nothing more.... (1019 views)
Tasted by JayP on 3/29/2014 & rated 89 points: Looks v young, deep vibrant purple. Nose is flowery and eucalyptus. Taste very fruit driven. Not awfully long but I sense that may come. I think ill leave for 6 months before trying another. (998 views)
Tasted by Badamf on 9/16/2012 & rated 87 points: Not bad, a little bit too obvious, and a real fruit bomb. Tannins are ripe and fairly soft. A good wine, but lacking any real complexity. Maybe it needs more time? (1352 views)
Tasted by Jenzen on 4/15/2012 & rated 88 points: reminscent of an Ontario cab franc... herbaceous. could still rest in bottle for a year or two (1153 views)
Tasted by sfqwino on 9/11/2011 & rated 89 points: Spice, eucalyptus, earth, dark berries and rather obvious oak. Soft tannins. (1323 views)
Tasted by sfqwino on 4/26/2009 & rated 89 points: Sweet cedary oak, ripe berries, chocolate and a dash of eucalytus. A little too young and disjointed initially, but came around with time in the decanter. The oak is quite pronounced now. Hopefully it will "dissolve" into the fruits in a few years. (1521 views)
Tasted by Paul S on 4/11/2009 & rated 90 points: MO collection and tasting (Richfield, Lam Soon Building, Singapore): Dark purple colour. Nose showed bramble, mint and eucalyptus, along with chocolate, tobacco and slightly sugared blackcurrants - if not for the sweetness, I would almost more reminiscent of Coonawarra than Margaret River. More blackcurrants on the palate, which had a nice fresh acidity along with plush velvety tannins. Again, I got touches of bramble along with a little savoury tone waeving in and out. The medium-lengthed finish showed quite a bit of sweet fruit, almost a little confected, gummy-candy like. It got a liitle better with time and slightly more rounded out. Not terribly complex, but enough so to hold the interest. A really nice wine, especially at its price - it certainly was not out of place next to a 2004 Lascombes. (1746 views)

JAMES HALLIDAY RED 5 STAR WINERY 2017, 2016, 2015, 2014, 2013, 2012, and 2011

“Sandalford is one of Australia’s oldest and privately owned wineries. In 1970 it moved beyond its original Swan Valley base, purchasing a substantial property in Margaret River that is now the main source of its premium grapes. Wines are released under the Element, Winemakers, Margaret River and Estate Reserve ranges, with Prendiville Reserve at the top. Exports to all major markets”

Cabernet Sauvignon

Cabernet Sauvignon is probably the most famous red wine grape variety on Earth. It is rivaled in this regard only by its Bordeaux stablemate Merlot, and its opposite number in Burgundy, Pinot Noir. From its origins in Bordeaux, Cabernet has successfully spread to almost every winegrowing country in the world. It is now the key grape variety in many first-rate New World wine regions, most notably Napa Valley, Coonawarra and Maipo Valley. Wherever they come from, Cabernet Sauvignon wines always seem to demonstrate a handful of common character traits: deep color, good tannin structure, moderate acidity and aromas of blackcurrant, tomato leaf, dark spices and cedarwood.

Used as frequently in blends as in varietal wines, Cabernet Sauvignon has a large number of common blending partners. Apart from the obvious Merlot and Cabernet Franc, the most prevalent of these are Malbec, Petit Verdot and Carmenere (the ingredients of a classic Bordeaux Blend), Shiraz (in Australia's favorite blend) and in Spain and South America, a Cabernet – Tempranillo blend is now commonplace. Even the bold Tannat-based wines of Madiran are now generally softened with Cabernet Sauvignon
