Good taste but not outstanding (2904 views) | | Tasted by gaboose on 10/10/2010 & rated 86 points: Nice melon and citrus, but too sweet and just barely below the level of acidity I would have liked. (3365 views) | | Tasted by Apollo168 on 10/9/2010 & rated 83 points: Sweet and pretty good (1539 views) | | Tasted by brianjdoherty on 6/26/2010 & rated 89 points: Sweetish, bit crisp and a little aromatic. (982 views) | | Tasted by The Kokopelli on 10/22/2009 & rated 88 points: Discovering Wine: This very pale gold Pinot Gris has a nose of golden delicious apple and a peppery note. Faint anise lurks in the background. Tastes of golden delicious apple and pepper lead to a finish that has a strong pepper note. Most will find this Pinot Gris an intruiging variation. (2802 views) | | Tasted by tantotinto on 6/25/2009 & rated 86 points: Lush fruit with a mineral chaser. We liked this but not as much as our current favorite Italian Pinot Grigio. (2464 views) | | Tasted by aharv on 4/26/2009 & rated 84 points: nothing exceptional (2559 views) | | Tasted by maderay on 11/10/2008 & rated 90 points: Honeydew, peach (2586 views) | | Tasted by drdebs on 9/28/2008 & rated 89 points: I liked this a lot. It's got aromas of ripe Elberta peach and honeysuckle. Flavors of melon and peach aren't flabby, there's s till a very nice core of acidity in this wine. Spicy finish. Definitely not an old world bottling, this would be delicious with spicy food. (2448 views) | | Only displaying the 25 most recent notes - click to see all notes for this wine... |
| MacMurray Ranch Producer websitePinot GrisFrom Pinot Gris Wikipedia entry: Wines made from the Pinot gris vary greatly and are dependent on the region and wine making style they are from. Alsatian Pinot gris are medium to full bodied wines with a rich, somewhat floral bouquet. They tend to be spicy in comparisons with other Pinot gris. While most Pinot gris are meant to be consumed early, Alsatian Pinot gris can age well. German Pinot gris are more full-bodied with a balance of acidity and slight sweetness. In Oregon the wines are medium bodied with a yellow to copper-pink color and aromas of pear, apple, and/or melon. In California, the Pinot gris are more light bodied with a crisp, refreshing taste with some pepper and arugula notes. The Pinot grigio style of Italy is a light-bodied, often lean wine that is light in color with sometimes spritzy flavors that can be crisp and acidic. Although this wine can be very sweet, it will begin to lose its acidity when it is nearly ripe.
Pinot gris is considered an "early to market wine" that can be bottled and out on the market within 4–12 weeks after fermentation. Varietal character (Appellation America)

Today, wine production is undertaken in all fifty states, with California producing 84% of all U.S. wine. The continent of North America is home to several native species of grape, including Vitis labrusca, Vitis riparia, Vitis rotundifolia, and Vitis vulpina, but the wine-making industry is based almost entirely on the cultivation of the European Vitis vinifera, which was introduced by European settlers. With more than 1,100,000 acres (4,500 km2) under vine, the United States is the fourth-largest wine producing country in the world, after Italy, Spain, and France.California2021 vintage: "Unlike almost all other areas of the state, the Russian River Valley had higher than normal crops in 2021, which has made for a wine of greater generosity and fruit forwardness than some of its stablemates." - Morgan Twain-Peterson Sonoma CountyMendocino CountyRussian River Valley Russian River Valley Winegrowers Association | Wikipedia |
