Tasted by zin-fan-delaware on 8/25/2018 & rated 96 points: A tremendous bottle of wine. Decanted. Perfectly balanced, fruit was still alive. The cork was in perfect condition. (978 views)
Tasted by winecat9 on 11/25/2010 & rated 88 points: Enjoyed by all with Thanksgiving dinner. Probably coming down from peak but very balanced and drinkable. Good color, restrained nose, nice fruit but fading. Decent finish. (3421 views)
Tasted by pea on 6/13/2008 & rated 90 points: Tile red. Developed nose with earthy tones, plum and sour cherry. Still crisp but clearly on the plateau. (3785 views)
Tasted by OpuMayaQuem on 2/12/2006 & rated 88 points: Beautiful color. (4024 views)
Tasted by OneLastSyrah on 10/1/1999: Decent earth, cherry, and oak nose leads to delicate, lightly acidic, but complex palate that needs food to reach its peak. Drying out it seems. Translucent rose in the glass (3641 views)
Tasted by buckeye76 on 9/14/1999 & rated 88 points: ORANGE ON THE EDGE. BLACK CHERRY AND LICORICE IN THE NOSE. FLAVOR LIKE THE NOSE, NICE CHERRY FRUIT AND LICORICE. MEDIUM LENGTH FINISH. (710 views)
Tasted by OneLastSyrah on 9/1/1999: Acidic to a fault for expensive Chianti. Some cherry fruit but also an abundance of leather. Herbaceous. Nose is more delicate but seems to have occasional puffs of vinegar. (2646 views)
Tasted by OneLastSyrah on 6/1/1999: much touted and enjoyed at Mi Piaci in December, this time the wine was very closed. The color is light for a fine wine, though this is common with Chianti I suspect. Its aging potential is in question, but with air the wine opens slightly to reveal fruit (1635 views)

Sangiovese Blend

Sangiovese blend is used in CellarTracker for Italian wines to represent wines predominantly made of Sangiovese and blended with traditional Italian grapes. It is different than SuperTuscan which is a blend of Sangiovese with non-traditional (eg Bordeaux) varieties, often in closer to equal portions. For example, Chianti is at least 80% Sangiovese and will always be listed Sangiovese blend.
