Community Tasting History

Community Tasting Notes (average 88 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text

Tasted by kevinacohn on 4/17/2015: The most age I've had on a Bianchetta Genovese. In its youth, this wine is lean, with razor-sharp acidity and minerality that often obscures its fruit. With six years of age, however, it's mellowed and taken on a rounder profile. Mango and orange Creamsicle offer nice elements of sweetness, complementing a briny, chalky minerality that reminds you of its origins. A nice tinge of acid on the finish. Drink over the next two years. Rated 1 on a scale of -1 to 3. (1467 views)
Tasted by Dalex on 1/19/2015 & rated 88 points: waxy with light citrus notes (lemon rind mostly) in a medium weight wine. Probably was best 3 years ago. A bit astringent on the finish. Tiny amount of fruit left and a wine that I would definitely not sit on. Drink up if you have any left. (1342 views)
Tasted by weingutwilhelm on 10/4/2012 & rated 90 points: Wax, wool and lemon. Focused steely citrus, fleshy, extract, mineral, juicy with sour acidity. Fleshy, grippy finish. Refreshingly sour with big broad flavor. (2172 views)
Tasted by Chomsky on 3/6/2011: Eh. Too ripe, lacking the crisp structure of earlier vintages. (3415 views)
Tasted by hkoben on 12/28/2010 & rated 84 points: Interesting, but I didn't love it. Seems a little murky, un-structured. (3535 views)
Tasted by hutch on 9/27/2010 & rated 90 points: Wine Wizards Tasting (The Warehouse): Great fruit. Really tasty stuff. Clean. (3859 views)
