| Community Tasting Notes (average 88 pts. and median of 89 pts. in 6 notes) - hiding notes with no text | | Tasted by kevinacohn on 4/17/2015: The most age I've had on a Bianchetta Genovese. In its youth, this wine is lean, with razor-sharp acidity and minerality that often obscures its fruit. With six years of age, however, it's mellowed and taken on a rounder profile. Mango and orange Creamsicle offer nice elements of sweetness, complementing a briny, chalky minerality that reminds you of its origins. A nice tinge of acid on the finish. Drink over the next two years. Rated 1 on a scale of -1 to 3. A bit astringent on the finish. Tiny amount of fruit left and a wine that I would definitely not sit on. Drink up if you have any left. Refreshingly sour with big broad flavor. (2172 views) | | Tasted by Chomsky on 3/6/2011: Eh. Too ripe, lacking the crisp structure of earlier vintages.
