Tasted at d'Vine wine bar June Monthly tasting. Made with the Trepat grape. Deep pink color, different than other rose sparklers that I have had. Raspberry on nose carries over to palate, joined by a minerality light bodied and bone dry - little residual sugar. Finish falls off almost as taking the oxygen out of the air. This was a easy wine to drink and would be very good poolside in the summer
Tasted at d'Vine Wine Bar June Monthly Tasting. a dry mineral driven Riesling, crisp with very good acidity. Strikes me more as an Alsatian Riesling rather than one from the Mosel. Seems like it would pair well with food. Strikes me as a nice entry level Riesling. May not be worth the quoted $18 price tag...
Tasted at d'Vine wine bar June Monthly tasting. PnP, simple easy drinker, light bodied red berries, nice fruit to it. Would be a nice party wine.86-87 points
Tasted at d'Vine Wine Bar June Monthly tasting. Pop and pour - Dark fruit with plus acidity. a hint of toasted oak. Wine had a nice black licorice flavor on the finish. Tried again and went very well with an Italian pannini. While not super complex, was interesting enough and tasty enough to be a real winner. Was my WOTN, and a great QPR at $12.99...would buy this wine for sure... 89+, maybe even 90 points...
Had at d'Vine wine Bar June Monthly Tasting - PnP, Nice amount of black fruit, black currant on the attack, maybe even a hint of pepper...then on the mid palate to the finish, there is a strong hit of smoked meats, the transition to smoked meats makes the wine very interesting, but I think it would be better if it was a little more subdued. Medium to full bodied, with relatively soft tannins... Was perhaps the most interesting wine of the night, though maybe not the best tasting. Pretty solid QPR for $16 or so, especially for fans of the style.
Tasted at d'Vine Wine bar June monthly tasting. Interesting blend of 50% Malbec, 25% Cab, 25% Merlot. PnP, nice dark fruit on the palate, balanced...While the Malbec dominates the flavor profile, I can taste the Merlot influence a bit softening the wine. Well made wine that tasted pretty good , but just lacked the Wow factor that would have let me score it higher.
Tasted at d'vine wine bar June Monthly Tasting - PnP, this wine needed some air time and definitely improved later in the night. Dark fruit with a hint of some spice (maybe green pepper) transitions into a finish that tasted of Bakers chocolate...Medium bodied with some chalky tannins...A tough wine to get a read on without it being decanted for some time, or given some time sideways. Based on its improvement later in the night I'll go 88, maybe 88+ but this could turn into something a little better.
PnP at d'Vine wine bar tasting. Bottle showed excellently. Clean crisp acidity, elicited comments that it would be a great food paring wine...watermelon and strawberry flavors in a light crisp package. I thought this wine showed very well. Very easy to drink and enjoy. Was a crowd-pleaser, and was thought to be a great QPR when $12 price was revealed.
Best comment of the night came from someone that said "the winemaker must be nuts for making these grapes into a rose. They are so good that they should have all just gone into making more Pinot Noir"
PnP at d'Vine wine bar. Only had a small amount as it was part of a tasting. Similar cherry cola notes as my last bottle with nice acidity and , but the fruit was not quite as vibrant. I think it was due to the fact that it had just arrived via Fed Ex Air only a couple of days before.
Went over very well at the tasting, and was well received
