No wine theme designated but these are new world friends. Roasted chokes with garlic and gorgonzola. Foccacia with tarragon and chives. Halibut with light lemon and wine. Pasta with garden herb pesto. Flourless chocolate with orange and coriander.

This shows pure sweet celery, figs and gooseberry fruit. It has some thickness in the mouth and a lingering clean finish. Very good vineyard wine.

One old world for contrast. Nice, pretty aroma with cherry, lilac, tar, touch of soil. Acidic, light, lean, tannic, tight on the palate. Tannin relaxes after two hours. Good with food but I would wait on this.

Syrah/Cabernet blend. Complex earthy smoke fruit. More smoke flavor with dark fruits. Silky and very sophisticated in the mouth with high toned northern latitude feel. Excellent but similar to other excellent Washington Syrahs/blends. Now or wait. Still seeking something unique.

2007 Quivira Zinfandel Wine Creek Ranch
USA, California, Sonoma County, Dry Creek Valley
Elegant, refined Zin. This isn't a blast of fruit but shows complex cedar, some ripe plum but all subdued. It's balanced for food with an attractive brightness. Good wine that is still slightly unsettled. Hold short term. Taste again.

70/30, Zin/Syrah. Based on the aroma/flavor the table assumed this was Zin but it has a youthful brightness from the syrah. It's gentle and refined in the mouth but I'm not able to say for certain that the blend is superior to their single vineyard 100% Zins. Good, solid wine.

2004 Trentadue Winery La Storia Cuvée 32 91 Points
USA, California, Sonoma County, Alexander Valley
Served with the Chocolate. This is impressive. Big, rich, sweet fruit Alexander Valley style. Clear Sangiovese character with less obvious Cabernet and Merlot. Some chocolate and leather but integrated. Soft and ready. Serious.
