Flight 1 (4 Notes)

  • 1997 Domaine Dujac Echezeaux

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Echezeaux Grand Cru

This was a very fine wine with fine tannins and red fruits, like raspberries and strawberries. Good finished.

  • 1997 Domaine Dujac Bonnes Mares

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Bonnes Mares Grand Cru

This was so much younger to the echezeaux, also much more musculine definitely a class up. The nose was not so expressive initially but after about 1 hour, it began to bloom into a very good wine, with flowers and fruits and the finished is also very good. Excellent stuff.

  • 2004 Kistler Chardonnay Sonoma Coast

USA, California, Sonoma County, Sonoma Coast

First time having this maker, it's a very california chardonnay with the oaky nose, lemoy and vanilla nose. It's not something you'll associate with the french style. But nevertheless it's a very good wine, with a lemony, stony palate. It's still very young and should be holding well for at least another 10 yrs.

  • 2004 Nicolas Potel Grands-Echezeaux

France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Grands-Echezeaux Grand Cru

Best 04 burgundy so far, it's obviously very young, nose plenty of sweet black and red fruits and hint of green, typical 04. On the palate, you can feel the green slightly more but overall it's balance nicely with the oak, fruits and acid. Great 04.
