A casual bring a bottle dinner with Graham, Jannette, Danny and Jules. We started with the Moet that was left over from [making] the dessert followed by the Krug. The reds were interupted by the dessert wine when dessert was served and finished off after dinner. As it was more of a social occasion than a tasting no detailed notes were made.
Served before dinner to celebrate a new baby and a pregnancy.
Served with roast beef, Yorkshire puddins, roast potatos, roast parsnips, carrots and asparagus.
Served with a Champagne and strawberry terrine from the French Laundry cook book.
A very enjoyable evening and the wines all stood up to each other very well without anything being too showy.

Well balanced with not too much acidity but nothing outstanding.

NV Krug Champagne Brut Grande Cuvée 93 Points

This had been in the cellar three years so was showing some wonderful ageing. Golden colour and lovely intense nose followed by a soft nutty palate and long finish. The cellaring had added a little more to this and it was lovely.
