Banshee Wines Fall Release Party

Introduction to Rickshaw brand of wines and re-tasting of this years versions of Banshee's wines.

• 2009 Rickshaw Pinot Noir Sonoma County 89 Points

  The Banshee Wines folks have done it again, a light bodied Russian River pinot that is fruity and floral and completely drinkable with classic varietal characteristics. At the moment, it's only available through their website at a ridiculous price if $15. I guarantee in a blind tasting with $40ish RRV Pinots, this will hold its own.
  
  Bottled just a few months ago, the nose right after opening was slightly bubble gum like but within the hour really developed into a lovely fruit and floral gem. I ended up buying a case.

• 2007 Rickshaw Napa Valley 88 Points

  Another killer value from the Banshee Wine gang. This Napa Valley Blend is 60% Merlot, 35% Cabernet Sauvignon and 5% Petit Verdot.
  
  No formal tasting notes, I remember oak flavor and thinking this is a tremendous deal for those who like Bordeaux blends.

• 2008 Banshee Cabernet Sauvignon 94 Points

  I am not a frequent cab drinker but if more cabs were like this, that would change. Well balanced, perfect levels of fruit, oak, acid. Not at all heavy handed, this is welcoming and sexy.
