Introduction

Great bottles with great friends.

Flight 1 (4 Notes)

  • 2004 L. Aubry Fils Champagne Le Nombre d'Or Brut Campanae Veteres Vites 93 Points

    France, Champagne

Pale gold in glass. Very ripe apple, pear, honey. Super rich. Flavors follow to the palate. Ripe apple from the attack onto the finish. Honey, hints of citrus. Quite bready on the transition to the finish, super lengthy finish. This is really, really good.

  • 2007 Halleck Pinot Noir The Farm Vineyards 92 Points

USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley

Ruby, fairly translucent. Ripe strawberry and cherry on the nose. Explosive nose. A good hit of oak and vanilla to boot. Huge red fruit, ripping acid, concentration city. Turns a. Little astringent on the finish. Very imposing at this stage. It's a baby. Give it rest.

  • 2008 Evening Land Vineyards Pinot Noir La Source Seven Springs Vineyard 94 Points

USA, Oregon, Willamette Valley, Eola - Amity Hills

Ruby red, fairly translucent in glass. Big nose of bright sour cherry, forest floor, some clove. Very vibrant. On the palate huge sour cherry, concentration city, oak is noticeable but not overbearing. Ripping acidity takes over on the midpalate, still a little imposing on the long finish. This is a baby, but it's really, really good. Excellent. Wow.

  • 2005 Williams Selyem Pinot Noir Russian River Valley 91 Points

USA, California, Sonoma County, Russian River Valley

Nose of bright red fruit. Cherry cola, strawberry. A faint backdrop of forest floor. Not over the top. Interesting nutmeg thing going. On the palate, silky attack of bright and ripe red fruit. Definitely cherry cola. Very new world, but good acid and reasonable tannin. Delicious city.
