Introduction

We bought several cases of 09 Bojos so we could afford to crack open a few early on to see where they are and track their development. However, I have to emphasize that these are REALLY young right now. Every wine was better on the 2nd or 3rd day and every one got a point or two bump as a result of 2nd or 3rd night performance. These are so primary and forward right now. All of them. If you have some bottles to spare or are curious, go ahead and open one or two. But if you are patient and believe everything that has been written about these wines, you should absolutely hold for at least a few years.

Flight 1 - Rose (1 Note)

Flight 2 - Tour of Beaujolais Crus (5 Notes)

All of these are quite good. The Fleurie got a substantial bump on the 2nd night as it really developed well with air (all wines did so, but the Fleurie stood out).

  • 2009 Pierre-Marie Chermette Fleurie Les Garants 91 Points

    France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Fleurie

This was tough to figure on the first night, but was stunning on the second night. Crushed raspberry, minerals, sous bois and menthol on the nose. Good amount of salinity and quite youthful on the palate. Nice acidity. Tough nut to crack on first night. On second night, much more depth and concentration. Fruit a bit more mellow. Medium finish. Should age well for several years.

  • 2009 Louis Jadot Moulin-à-Vent Château des Jacques 91 Points

    France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Moulin-à-Vent

Make this a 91+ based on second night. Darker more muted fruit. Blues and darker reds as opposed to brighter reds on Fleurie. Menthol, anise and cocoa powder. Quite tannic in comparison to Vissoux. Good dense core, which only fleshed out on second night. Nice rich and dense palate on second night leading to very mouthwatering lingering finish.

  • 2009 Domaine des Terres Dorées (Jean-Paul Brun) Morgon 93 Points

    France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Morgon

What a very different Morgon than the Drouhin Morgon we tasted immediately afterward. This is much lighter. Pine needles, muted, red fruit liqueur, salinity and sous bois on the nose. Mouth filling on the palate. Sour red fruit. On the second night, this took on more weight, concentration and balance. Really developed well on the next night. Nice juicy and lengthy finish. This has great acidity to carry it for several years.

  • 2009 Joseph Drouhin Morgon 94 Points

    France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Morgon

Really an outstanding wine. Quite honestly, I'm not sure you will ever find a better wine for under $13. Independent of price, it is terrific. When you factor in the price, it is a must buy if there ever was one. Even if you think it is a step or two down from where I have it, it is UNDER $13! Deep and darker than Brun Morgon. Dark, bold and brooding. Candied fruit on nose, good density and concentration on palate. This just gained more of everything with air and a night in the fridge. Red and blue fruit with sweet spices. Nice aromatic and spicy finish.

  • 2009 Domaine des Terres Dorées (Jean-Paul Brun) Côte de Brouilly 94 Points

France, Burgundy, Beaujolais, Côte de Brouilly

Gained some nice weight and softened up over night. Brighter fruit turned a bit darker with air. Solid acidity. Very juicy. A hint of menthol and sous bois on the palate. The finish was really stellar here, as it continued to build to nice crescendo.
