From half bottle at the Domaine. Pretty, yet simple red fruits, earth and mild spice. Good depth for the level. Shorter finish.

From half bottle at the Domaine. She said it had been open 7 days and may be a bit tired. I'm quite familiar with her Bourgogne and still thought it showed quite nicely. Dark red cherry and berry with great concentration. Lush, ripe fruit on the palate. Nice acidity and still a touch a grip on the finish. Lighter bodied.

From half bottle at the Domaine. Very pretty, pure red fruits with a definite floral lift. An iron streak running right through it. Very pretty spice. Great intensity and a mineral driven finish. Medium finish.

From half bottle at the Domaine. Anne mentioned that it had been open for one week. Unlike the others that had been previously opened, this one was holding up the least. Even still, there was quite a bit of brown baking spice and earthy, dark red berry fruit. Good elements.

From half bottle at the Domaine. Opened right then. A bit closed, but with some coaxing dark red cherry and berry flavors and aromatics started coming out. Brown spice notes. Earth. Lots of backbone. Medium plus finish.

From bottle at Domaine Anne Gros. Ripe, almost black fruits on the nose and palate. Black pepper notes and smoke. Crushed stone. Fruit forward on the palate with very nice balance and a moderate finish. Very good. More stuffing than the 2008 version.

From bottle at Domaine Anne Gros. Very spicy nose. Ripe dark fruits with great acidity. Savory roasted meat notes. Nice grip on the finish. Lacking a little bit of the intensity of the 2009, but still quite good.

From bottle at Domaine Anne Gros. Limestone soil here. 104 year old Carignan vines make up a good portion of this wine. Darker, more serious nose than the Fontanilles. Lots of powerful, dark spices. Savory herbs, roasted game sausage. Mineral backbone. Great balance to the wine. Medium plus finish.

From bottle at Domaine Anne Gros. Like the 2008 vs. 2009 Fontanilles, this too is like its 2009 counterpart, but with a little less stuffing. Still quite good though with plenty of spicy dark red fruits and savory qualities. Crushed stone. Ripe fruit on the palate and a mineral driven finish. Delicious and very forward today.

2010 Domaine Anne Gros Richebourg
France, Burgundy, Côte de Nuits, Richebourg Grand Cru
From barrel at the Domaine. Wine was going through malo. Anne remarked that this is showing quite open today, even with malo happening. Classic Richebourg spice on the nose, very concentrated dark red and blue fruits. Beautiful violet notes. Silky tannins. Very excited to see what this develops into. Fantastic elements.
