Introduction
Eurocave celebrated 25 years of activity in Israel. They arranged a very nice happening in Herzlia, with the participation of leading boutique wineries and importers. Following are my TNS for some of the wines.
2007 Amphorae Rhyton Red 89 Points
Israel, Samaria, Mount Carmel
In the nose red and black fruits. Too alcoholic. Medium bodied, round and well balanced. Nice.

2006 Amphorae Maharal Merlot-Barbera 89 Points
Israel
An interesting blend of Merlot-Barbera. In the nose – mostly alcohol and red fruits. Medium to full bodied, round and well balanced. A nice wine but extremely overprized (more than 200 NIS !!)

Sharp and fresh. The oak is almost not noticeable. Weak body

2006 Amphorae Makura 90 Points
Israel, Galilee
A blend of C.S., Merlot and Shiraz. Nice and alcoholic nose with red fruits in the front. Full bodied, prominent tannins, muscular. Good but also extremely overprized.

2006 Amphorae Cabernet Sauvignon 91 Points
Israel, Galilee
The best from the Amphorae's tasted. Ripe fruits and hints of smoke. Full bodied, round, good structure.
