Very deep. Some burnt rubber. Medium weight, licorice and a trace of off flavors too. Grainy, very tannic finish. Lots of extract, that's for sure.

Medium to light color. Herbal nose. Light, savory style with lots of green notes and excellent acidity. Perhaps underfruited, but this would probably show better with food.

Moderately deep ruby. Ripe red fruit scents. Good depth with olive in addition to its fruit. Sweeter style with some alcohol showing. Still, pretty good quality and value.

Medium ruby. Ripe. Syrupy entry with a bit of anise for a modicum of complexity, then oafishly applied wood which dries out the finish. The most modern of the reds today. I really don't like this.

Medium center. Spicy red fruit. Medium weight, excellent embedded Provencale herbs. Finish fades a bit. Not worth the inflated price, but that said, I was pleasantly surprised by how elegant, complex and unmarked by wood this was. Very good at least.

Medium to lighter color. Terrific aromatic complexity already. Nice elegant weight with balance of fruit and herbs. What really set this apart from every other wine in the line up was its outstanding acidity, which gave it more freshness and drive than anything else tasted. Wonderful wine with early appeal and mid-term aging potential.

Lighter color, tawny edge. Attractive brown spices. Medium weight. Combination of red and blue fruit (this and the aromatics make me think that its Mourvedre is prominently displayed today). The only nit is a loss of flavor authority on the finish, but overall, very good.

Medium center. Most brooding dark fruit nose of all the reds today. Sappy but simple entry but some late arriving tobacco and acidity. Reminds me of Mont Olivet style. Despite the late structural elements, it is still not quite as shapely as either of the other 2 Chateauneufs.

Ripe nose. Slightly tropical and nutty. Mouthcoating feel, ripe but not overblown fruit, somewhat neutral flavors.
