  Very heavy smoky nose full of burnt hazelnut. Rich and deep mouth with a very round feel and not too much acidity.

  Nose of citrus, lemon and minerals. rich deep round mouth feel with a medium to long length.

Heavy Brett from the Musar but a pleasant taste

  Excellent Amarone from Allegrini that is drinking very well for its youthful age.
  
  Nose of cherries, spice, nutmeg, chocolate, dates, figs and plumbs. Medium length with a slight sweetness to the mouth

  Full Brett nose with some forest floor (not the most pleasant of smells). The taste really makes up for the nose with a silky smooth mouth with an excellent balance and acidity.

Pichon Lalande is just superb

• 2004 Fattoria Poggio di Sotto Brunello di Montalcino 95 Points

  Italy, Tuscany, Montalcino, Brunello di Montalcino

  A truly great Sangiovese with a nose of liquorice, tobacco, spice, tar, earth and some red fruits. Medium to long length with a silky smooth mouth.
  
  Maybe the Japanese Manga comic got this one right

• 1989 Château Pichon Longueville Comtesse de Lalande 96 Points

  France, Bordeaux, Médoc, Pauillac

  Pichon Lalande really had a great decade in the '80s with the '82, '86,'89 and '90. Yet another amazingly complex wine with all the classical notes of cherries, tobacco, cedar and dried fruits. Great length and superb mouth.

A nice way to end an evening

• 1986 Château Climens 92 Points

  France, Bordeaux, Sauternais, Barsac

  Nose of honey, burnt sugar, lemon and toffee. Surprisingly light mouth and medium to short length.
  
  I recommend you don't drink this and just smell it. The '86 Yquem wins (not that there was much doubt)
