The Bustan Forum organized a visit to Pelter Winery at Ein Zivan and to Odem Mountain Winery at Moshav Odem. In both wineries we visited the installations, heard from the winemakers about their approaches and tasted their wines.
At 11 AM we all met At Pelter Winery in Kibbutz Ein Zivan. Tal Pelter, owner and winemaker, shows us the installations of this compact winery: the fermentation tanks, the cellars, and told us about his philosophy for the wine making. We finished with a tasting of most of the winery's wines.
After visiting Pelter Winery, we all drove to Moshav Odem, to visit Odem Mountain Winery. There we met Michael Alfasi and one of his sons Ishai, who led a tasting of their wines
2011 Pelter Sauvignon Blanc 85 Points

I agree with Jan about this wine. Even though it was fresh and sharp, the nose was weak (tropic fruits) .Nice wine but it felt like diluted and lacking backbone.

2011 Pelter Gewürztraminer 90 Points

10 g/I sugar. Tropic fruits and fresh on the nose. Good harmony – Also a lot of tropic fruits on the palate, thus giving a very fresh filling due to the very good acidity of the wine.
