On June 9, 2012 I took a tour of the Cote de Nuits region with Stephanie Jones Mancuso of Burgundy Wine Tours/Aux Quatre Saisons B&B. Stephanie was an amazing guide and the tour was absolutely fantastic - highly recommended!
After a 45-minute stop in the vineyards to learn the geography and geology of the Cote de Nuits, we headed to our first tasting appointment at Chateau Andre Ziltener.
Our second tasting of the morning was at the beautiful Domaine Quivy
Stephanie arranged a fabulous 4-course wine tasting lunch at La Table de Pierre Bouree

After lunch we headed back into the vineyard to reflect on what we'd tasted and where it came from. A highlight of the trip was getting a photo under the cross at the famous Romanee Conti vineyard in Vosne-Romanee:
From there we headed down the hill to the tasting room at Domaine Rion.
Our final stop of the day was the fun tasting room of Cave de L'Ange Gardien where our hosts Pierre and Nicole warned us against the evils of being a "label drinker" and served all of the wines blind so we could decide what we liked and didn't like independent of the price or the label. Great fun!
All in all, this was an amazing day of learning and tasting.
