Bright yellow hue. Focused nose of lime fruit with a slight touch of VA. Tastes of apple, butterscotch, and lemon with a heavy oak backbone that seems to be integrating. Rich flabby finish. This wine was served against a 2006 Domaine Leflaive Chevalier Montrachet and is not holding up its end of this side by side comparison. Both were served blind and it was extremely easy to guess which was which. This wine lacks the depth, complexity, and elegance of the Leflaive. In this interesting comparison, my tastes lean heavily towards the old world.

Bright yellow color. Floral tropical fruit nose. Tastes of lemon, spice, mango, and melon. Well balanced. Nicely integrated oak. Elegant finish with nice complexity and depth. Served blind against the 2006 Marcassin Estate Charddonay completely blowing it out of the water.

Bright golden color. Big VA problem that got worse as the night wore on. Too bad.

Restrained nose of lemon fruit that is ever so slightly oxidized. Tastes of lemon and lime. Well balanced. Medium to full bodied. Nice finish with some interesting layered fruit. My least favorite of the Montrachet's this evening but a nice wine nonetheless.

Golden color. Pretty floral nose of lemon lime fruit with some well integrated French oak. Tastes of apple, melon, grapefruit, lemon, and caramel. Well balanced. Layered mid palate. Outstanding balance. Incredibly complex and elegant finish. IMO this wine was showing much better tonight than supposed superior 2006 vintage. My personal WOTN and probably the best Chardonnay I've had the pleasure to drink all year. Thanks Jeff.

Golden color. Tropical fruit on the nose. Lemon and lime fruit dominate the palate with some soda minerality. Well balanced. Crisp finish that has some complexity.
